Did you hear about the mail container sent from the US to Russia in 1999 that is finally being delivered? It arrived to Russia on December 8th with 4.5 tonnes of mail, the news story says. It says the container was lost in Finland for all these years, but that it was hermetically sealed and everything is very well preserved. You know, this *should* amuse me, but as someone who sends international mail, it does not.

So Finland, then, is the Guantanamo Bay of Russian postage...
It is, we suppose, of some *small* comfort to know that the mail was hermetically sealed, even if Hermes wasn't exactly doing his job of spiriting it on its way...
