So we use the bare frame from the pagoda and buy a load of planks that are 4m long. We can screw these to the walls to create solid walls we can hang stuff off, maybe even fit a window frame with shutters to let light in if we want it. Inside the saloon we build a bar into the corner and have a shit load of shelves behind it stocked almost entirely with Whiskey. We can have a small table and some chairs in another corner.

"Lots of planks" may mean lots of money. And for the roof we'll need not just planks but also sturdy bars as used for the floor, otherwise it's not safe.

I'd say: let's not make the roof walkable but just act as a sunshade, and then go with the cheapest stuff we can get away with. Same for the wall. We still have the sturdy "window sills" that we can stand and lean on, so the walls need not much sturdyness on their own, I hope.

Thank you Prof. Templenko. Your logic is untouchable as always.

I think your camp name needs to be Doc Templemann or maybe just Doc.

      Safety third Thomas!

Making the whole roof load bearing would be too expensive, I wonder if having something like a scaffolding board across one end would be possible. They are certainly close to 4m in length, and wouldn't need any additional supports. something that one person could sit on, and look as if they are on the roof, in true western shoot out style.

I've been thinking really hard about the logistics of having someone get shot off the roof. We could build a crash mat with cardboard boxes, it would be fairly cheap/

Cardboard boxes should work, as long as the depth is correct, and theres a cover of some sort to hold them all together and stop them spreading out on impact.

that's exactly what I was thinking. We could get a massive tarp sewn into a five sided cube shape to go over the stack.

this is also something to experiment with before going. We should have a box crash mat and sugar glass smashing experiment day. That would be wicked!
