Committment verse sex? What's the difference and who's to say that it's right or wrong?

Even if it's decided up front that it's cool to have an open relationship and bring people into it on the side or smack dab in the middle, is it worth it in the long run?

What if you decide up front that the person you're with it's a long term companion so you don't care about these decisions, but then it turns out that you fall deeply in love and find a jealousy issue you're feeling urging its way up inside you?

What you do; what do say to the other person?

Do you even tell people up front that you don't want to pursue a serious relationship? What if that changes after you've been with your partner for awhile?

It's happened to me, and I didn't know what to do. I've been on both sides of the equation, and I still don't have the answers.
