why is this tribe so quiet? You guys shouldn't wait for me to post...what are your opinions as pagans?
what's happening to the pagan community?

Re: pagan friends
Wed, April 30, 2008 - 8:08 AMI dunno... I wouldn't take it as a reflection on what is happening to the pagan community at large, just... message boards, they wax and wane.
I don't really have much I ever need to discuss about paganism or being a pagan. I'm content where I am, my life is a journey, my relationship with wicca, a fairly steady one. This forum seemed like one more web of community that I could access.
I'm always good for interjecting my opinion, but only when I have one. Which amazingly is NOT on every topic. -

But I am wondering in general...I notice folks don't post much and I was wondering have folks lost interest or are they truly so busy -

Re: pagan friends
Wed, April 30, 2008 - 10:49 AMI agree with Soooz: Tribe has been very quiet across the board.
My excuse for not posting more is that baseball season is here, and I am also a blogger with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. So my goof-off time AND creativity energy are both being siphoned off elsewhere.
That said, I do have great conversations with friends I've met here on Tribe, but they're off the boards. -

It all depends on the tribes you're on. I'm on several that are always quite active. I wish some of them weren't so active in fact. lol

Well yeah baseball season trumps everything else. *g* And what other sport represents the four directions so well? I mean first, second and third base and home plate all correspond to a direction. ;) I've been thinking about doing research as to how some sports seem to have some of the same elements in them that rituals do.
Having said that, no amount of magic or ritual will help the SF Giants this year. -

Have you seen the Baseball Tarot deck? It's actually pretty cool, well researched, and there is some definite meat to be found within. -

Re: pagan friends
Wed, April 30, 2008 - 5:40 PMcan one of you please explain what possible enjoyment you can derive watching baseball, knowing that these guys are mostly overpaid drug addicts and thugs who do charity work to "polish their image"? I mean, how good does that beer taste knowing that it paid for a ballplayer's gazilliondollar contract? And if that isn't enough, how can you stand to see all the ads for Viagra and Cialis around the ballpark? -

Well, since you seem to feel that virtually all baseball players are "overpaid drug addicts and thugs," I think I'd be wasting my time in trying. :)
>I mean, how good does that beer taste knowing that it paid for a ballplayer's gazilliondollar contract?
I don't drink beer at baseball games so I wouldn't know.
>And if that isn't enough, how can you stand to see all the ads for Viagra and Cialis around the ballpark?
I deal with them the same way I deal with the ads I see anywhere else..I IGNORE them. <shrug>

Yep. There's 3 or 4 different baseball tarot decks around. :) -
