Being a huge fan of rap I thought I would bring this up.

Of course everyone knows about this what they call "Hyphy Movement".
I'm not sure what's so "Movement" about it. It seems to me like steps backwards. However I am loving the music and I guess the whole movement thing is getting Oakland and Bay rap back on the map.

what was the point of my post? I guess for you guys to have a place to rant?

I have many DVD's such as Sideshows & Hoes, Oakland Gone Wild, Hood 2 Hood the Blocumentary and go Dumb USA.
It seems there is big money in the market so of course it will keep on keeping on.

It's too bad that e40 who seems to be one of the hard pushers of this "movement" lives in Blackhawk and would never be found in Oakland at 4am on a Saturday night participating in a sideshow.

check out this preview for Go Dumb USA, good beats I must say.

  • wow, that really sounds appealing - now I REALLY want to go to a sideshow and get my car fucked up and get pistol-whipped! Just what my Saturday night was missing!

yeah, this is sure to get more *great* press for Oakland. Smell that? It's sarcasm.

It makes me wonder about the voyeurism that people have for people who are fucking up their own lives and making neighborhoods unlivable. I've heard that these videos, like Hood to Hood and now Go Dumb, are incredibly popular around the UC Berkeley campus. I imagine they're popular in suburban USA too.

It's kind of like the TV Show "Cops" except now the people acting dumb on camera are doing it intentionally for the notoriety . . .
    • Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if UC Berkeley was all about it.
People are mocking going dumb and ghost riding all over America. Crazy white rednecks going dumb.
just go to youtube and search ghostride, hyphy, go dumb or anything and you get a ton of videos. youtube.com/

I have shown these DVD's to quite a few of my non ghetto friends from like Danville and such. They love it, they all want copies. Friends out at SFSU love it too. I admit its entertaining but not a positive movement.

      p.s.
This new e40 Album has some slamming ass songs on it.
