I ended up getting mine from beard. they're in the u.k. though and the exchange rate doesn't exactly favor the dollar. i couldn't find a u.s. manufacturer though.

you could try making ones with tubing and silver tape -- similar to but smaller than hoops that hula hoopers use. it'd be a similar effect as actual metal.

Try McMaster-Carr for all your hardware needs: www.McMaster.com.

(I dare you not to get hung up in their web site!)

I feel responsible for creating this mess; Jago and I worked with Beard to produce a small batch of metal hoops for use in our old Anomalies show. Pich and Furet picked up a few, as did Anna, bruno and some of the others. Beard sold off the remaining stock; and barely produce any more.

I'd be definetly curious to see if we can get another supplier.

This sounds like a great idea,
    Lets find another distributor
I think I am on to something with www.trapezerigging.com
They sell aluminum hoops at 36in and I talked about making smaller sizes

What are the hoops that are out there made of and what is the diameter?

    is beard still a possibility?
    we can do it

The hoops that Jago and I used in Anomalies are made out of aluminium, with an almost inperceptible seam. They are the rough size and width of a childs hula-hoop, the rough width of my shoulder to my wrist.
