Odissi Dance

Odissi dance is a classical dance form from the Indian state of Orissa. According to archeological evidance, it is the oldest classical dance form in India; however, it suffered decades of decline around the turn of the last century and had to be revived by several prominent gurus, making it simultaneously the oldest and newest classical form of dance in India.
