This is *not* a reflection on any one of us...at all. It just seems to me that if someone doesnt set a date, and plan for it, well we all get busy, life gets in the way, and we forget. Oh and that sucks. Then gradually we lose touch, we lose friends, we lose things to do, we lose our togetherness. We cannot let that happen. We sure as hell cant let the straights win! Can we!!?!?!? The HORRORS!
So I have two dates in mind for our Black As Night As Day Tea Party-which I propose we have at Sweetie Pies (even the name is too cute for us! Aint it grand?) in Placerville on either November 12th (a day or two after out StitchnBitchnStuffnFluff which if you werent aware of...if you planned on drinking or had a long drive you are more than welcome to stay the night. I have an extra bedroom, an extra bunk in Berkes room, a futon in my office, a hammock, an outdoor couch, an outdoor swing, the regular couch, and lots and lots of floor..one covered by a 6k Bokhara carpet) or on November 19th. Its *close* to Halloween, but not so close that the locals will thing oooh so thats it. Then we can really confuse em. I plan on wearing something black. overly sexy for Placerville, and maybe a widows mourning hat, y'know with veil. *evil grin* What do you all say? Tea? Crumpets? A reading of Poe? Actually, a nice gothic reading, poem, or even song that you know or wrote yourself might be a nice little addition. After that, lets just spike the tea with some whiskey and have a grand dark time.

Fri, October 13, 2006 - 4:28 PMHmmm... Right in the thick of Sewing Hell, but wouldn't that make a splendid break from bloody fingertips and beading needles??? I must agree with Dear Percy in regards to the date (Of course, quality time spent scampering about with Percy had absolutely no impact upon my decision. No, not at all.).

Re: Black As Night As Day Tea Party
Sun, October 15, 2006 - 7:08 PMLet's see... I'll be making a great coat for my Consort, Walterus Ignotus, a much simpler cote for Malyn, a set of flaming devil duck Byzantines for myself, and a Water Nymph costume from a Venetian Masque. I think that's it. Perhaps there may be more sewing for others, but I do not know as of yet.
My current project (once I stop procrastinating), is a set of 1570's Venetians out of black PVC and red silk for Halloween. I'm going as a Black Widow Courtesan this year!
Cheers!

Sun, October 15, 2006 - 9:53 PMI'm sure Cat isn't really bitter. I've been told people taste like chicken. But for now Cat can have fabulous Elizabethan Loose Gowns! (Got to get one of those!!!)
And yes... Cat will be happy in the long run. -
