Rule No 1. IF YOU AREN'T HAVING FUN.. DON'T DO IT!
There are no Chapter Dues, so don't worry about any of that stuff.
All we ask is that you have a local area where you are, gather up a few of your other OG friends, and wear your hats in accordance with the guidelines for color and age; and other accoutrements when you go out together for tea, cemetary tours and other fun sorts of OG things.
Men, are most definately allowed. However, men are allowed black hats at all ages, since there are very few color choices, if a gray hat can be found for our younger men, then please follow the guidelines.
All Chapters are to Celebrate Black Hat day on July 11

Re: Local Chapters
Thu, June 15, 2006 - 12:25 PMExcellent! I assume, dear Henri, that you will handle the Foothills Chapter, and I the Sacramento Chapter? Hmmm... I almost want to choose pithy names for the chapters corresponding to their locations... historically based, of course!
(my brain has too much fun with this stuff) -

Re: Local Chapters
Thu, June 15, 2006 - 12:43 PMWorks perfectly for me, my dear Percy.
I was out of ideas on a pithy name while sitting at my desk at work, however, home on lunch is no better. -

Thu, June 15, 2006 - 2:24 PMName the Chapters after a Local "haunted' building in our area? -

Re: Local Chapters
Mon, June 19, 2006 - 11:18 PMThe Sierra Foothills chapter shall encompass the areas from Coloma to South Lake Tahoe. This territory shall be christened "Les Fantômes de Fleuve," or, if you want to be mundane about it, "The River Ghosts." We prefer the Frenchified version, though. It's got everything a proper Goth Girl could want ... an accent, a Les and a de! Isn't it just swoonable?
Yours Affectionately,
Henrietta Bloodsworth -

Re: Local Chapters
Tue, December 5, 2006 - 11:01 PMThe Sacramento chapter shall be called "The New Helvetia Murgatroyds"** and encompass Sacramento County and the included cities of Elk Grove, Folsom, Citrus Heights, Galt, Isleton, Rancho Cordova and Sacramento as well as the various suburbs within the greater Sacramento area (Antelope, Arden/Arcade, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Natomas, North Highlands/Foothill Farms, Orangevale, Rio Linda/Elverta, etc). While Roseville is part of Placer County, we will claim it for now, as it is so close to Sacramento.
~ Percy
**(New Helvetia was the original name given to Sacramento by Sutter; "Murgatroyds" is a term from an 1887 Gilbert & Sullivan opera called "Ruddigore" that made fun of the melodramatic Gothic literature so prevalent in period)

Re: Local Chapters
Wed, October 31, 2007 - 11:53 PMEasy get some pals together, don your best hats and go for tea.. or coffee... tour a cemetary. Come up with a snazzy name for your chapter and tell us about it!
For example, my chapter, Les Fantômes de Fleuve, will be heading out on a cemetary stroll very soon.. Weather permitting of course. -

Re: Local Chapters
Mon, February 18, 2008 - 3:23 AMI am so glad I found this group. If I see another purple or red hat I will just... Well, we won't go there, but it won't be pretty. LOL
I'm Jesi, a veil wearing black hatter from West Virginia. ( Ok ..black hat with black roses, black feathers and a veil)
I would love to set up a chapter here taking in the WV and Ohio area. There are several ladies that would like to join.
I have tea cups ready and all will be donning their hats in honor of National Black Hat day.
I'll get back with you on names and important information later.
I'm SOOOO excited about this.
Oh and which one of the members was selling the lovely top hats? If you would contact me with photos and prices. One black hat is NEVER enough!
