We are having another work party, this saturday, from about 7:30 pm onward. Hopefully we should get through the bulk of the remaining work in this one.

We have gotten a lot accomplished with these work parties, but I must say, they tend to be a lot of work, and not much party......and thats because you guys dont show up. I know people are busy and what not, but the more people that show up, the less each person has to do, furthermore, its a lot nicer to be putting in some labor when you have 3 or 4 people to bring you beer and snacks.

So we will take care of the work, but we need you guys to bring the party!

there is no oven, but there is a stove... so what kind of stove top meals can you pre-prepare, freeze and thaw, that you would want to see on your plate come burningman. i've got a few suggestions...

i know i would love to see a big pasta meal on friday or saturday. pasta is great for long term energy... maybe with a non-veg meat sauce option? pasta bolognese (spaghetti and sauce with meat or "meat") with a veggie side is super easy... the only hurdle is boiling all that pasta in a short time. ideas?

chili worked great out there as well, and is another dish that can be easily modified for veg and non veg tastes... just add finely ground pan fried hamburger to the pot at the same time you would add more delicate ingredients like onion. the secret is to add some of the drippings from the fry pan as well...

i really love Jay's yeasty tofu dish. if someone wanted to get the recipe from him for that one that would be great.

curry?

stew?

I'm not so much worried about the whole "being-completely-self-sufficient-for-a-week" thing, but more so about how I'm getting to camp and back. Greg, you mentioned in your email people arriving at the Vulcan before heading to the Playa. If I were to show up at the Vulcan, is there someone who would have space in their car for me? (and back). I tend to pack pretty light (I wasn't an eagle scout for nothing), and any advice for flying with a bicycle without shelling out an extra $50 for oversized checked items? Dissasembly is a little more involved than flying with a unicycle...

There will be drinks and snacks, and donations and contributions to that are always welcome.

on top of that, we need a few things from you. we need plastic bags, like from the grocery store. as many as you can get your hands on.
we also need you to bring irons with you, yes like the kind for clothes., and wax paper if you have it.

finally, anyone with some serious power tools and a way to cart them around, we could use another drill press, as well as another saw/grinder/cutting wheel.

we want this to be fun, and get things accomplished, and the more of you we have here, the less work any one person has to do, so come hang out, have some fun,

if you have a project that you are working on for bm, feel free to bring it, get some help with it, maybe even talk about someway to involve your art with the camp.

let us know if you are coming, so we know how many people to expect....and the event spans so many hours, so people can be here when they can, and leave when they have to, so if you can only make it for a couple hours, showing up for that time will make or break us.

Well, we are trying to make a lot of new, big adittions to the camp this year, communal projects that are going to take everyones help.

So we are going to start having monthly work parties, (or more often as time runs out), but the idea is for everyone to come and hang out and have a good time, and pitch in, and help make stuff for the camp, and be some of the people who make burningman happen.

So the first one is going to be Sunday 3/30 at the Vulcan, unit 14
We will be working from 3:00 into the evening, show up any time, the earlier the better :-P

You are welcome to bring your own projects to work on as well,
If some of you could also bring snacks and booze, that would be great.

Also, if you have an iron, that has adjustable heat settings, please bring it, as well as waxpaper, if you have any to spare.

If you have any questions or comments feel free to private message me, or email me at evolutionfire@gmail.com

lets get our burning drunk on!
