If you were active at Omidyar.net this tribe may help keep some of those valuable connections with others. It works the other way around too: some people maybe new to tribe and need to get acquainted here at tribe.
The ground rules at Omidyar.net are:
Ground Rules:
* We are all here because we believe in making the world a better place.
* We believe in treating each other with respect.
* We believe everyone has something to contribute.
Seems a good approach to this group too.

Re: Welcome
Sat, August 4, 2007 - 3:27 PMThanks for the welcome, John.
How did your topics page land up with an ad for Neckelmann Beaded Costumes, Belly dancers, Vegas Show Girls, Neckelmanns.com?
Or that is maybe what Google puts up when it sees Linda? hahaha
Or omidyar? -

Re: Welcome
Wed, August 8, 2007 - 11:25 PMI don't know what it is about Belly Dancing? There are all sorts of conversations here. He he he, I looked at the ads at some my racier tribes and then some of the issue oriented ones. The Google blog ads are generated by key words, but only seems approximately appropriate at best and sometimes not appropriate at all. My hunch is that when in doubt they have a limited number of ads to fall back on. Some of the ads of sexual content aren't used in tribes like this. In the asylum seekers tribe there was an ad for immigration help and then one for belly dancers. There are some great belly dancers here at tribe. I'm not really into belly dancing, but I do know that like most dance it's meaningful not in a tawdry way. -

Re: Welcome
Mon, August 13, 2007 - 9:31 PMTribe runs the gamut and caters to very artistic and creative communities around the world, so you're likely to see more costume and performance-related links here than in most social networks. This space really sprouted from communties like Burning Man that build networks based on artistic collaboration. -

Re: Welcome
Tue, August 14, 2007 - 3:09 PMIf it weren't for the navigation problems, I'd be thrilled to pieces. I have been enjoying exploring the site. Now that you mention Burning Man, the fact groups are called tribes makes a lot of sense.
