So... my good friend Tony Kaos has blessed me with a FABULOUS opportunity... details are forthcoming but we've "inked" a deal (digitally) for One Bad Grandma to perform at the Holy RoadHouse in Columbia Missouri on March 10th, 2007!
W00t! My first _real_ gig - with a set between 45 and 60 minutes. I'll be sharing my most polished material, and tossing some covers along the way. Thus far, I'm planning on presenting this as a primarily accoustic evening in a very intimate setting. The lovely Astar will be sitting in with me to provide additional vocals (yes, I'm really going to sing ya'll) and I expect this to be a very laid back, special engagement. What better way to kick off my triumphant return to the Kansas City market?
Holy Roadhouse information is available over at www.holyroadtours.com/comohouse.php
(Go on admit it - this placed is COOLER than COOL!)
THIS IS THE CALL - if you've an interest in providing limited accompanyment (such as shakers, small drums [bongo/congo/djembe], or feel good with your fingers on a baby grand piano) PLEASE contact me ASAP. Rehersals for this engagement will be frequent at my house in Kansas City, but don't fret - we're not shooting for the stars, only the moon. I'd be HONORED to share this evening with other musicians, and of course my friends and family.
Namaste,
Kyrka

Fri, February 9, 2007 - 11:27 AMWell, it appears we'll have a foursome, then!
Let me know what needs run through Overture to get a score. I'll read up on the guitar tab features.

Re: Traction on the pavement
Fri, February 9, 2007 - 7:37 PMCool - actually, I was just thinking about this:
My output is purely .wav or later .mp3 as none of my guitar work is midi. What are the odds you can pipe a finished work into Overture, and have it spit stuff out? In particular, that whole "what BPM did I actually play this at?" question keeps nagging at me. (Yeah, like I'm really a perfectionist.)
Ultimately, I need to read my Pro Tools 7 Power! Guide... I'm sure there's some form of beat clock thing that is supposed to match the beats/bars to the tempo it detects.
I just got Spencer to bed... will get to work on the deliverables I mentioned last night, and send you a post with links when ready, etc.
One last thing - did you say you did or didn't have FireWire on your machine? If you do, you're certainly welcome to borrow that Inspire audio interface if you need such for recording drums - with Cubase and all associated stuff. (Hrm... you _would_ need a mic.) -

Fri, February 9, 2007 - 7:49 PMI have one firewire 400 port. I'll have to check on Overture and mp3 and wav files.
