Howdy all - a whirlwind of activity this week, and I'd love to spew and get everyone caught up on so many wonderful happenings, but that's really for my blog. people.tribe.net/kyrka
Alas, the most important thing I want to accomplish right now is making sure those who are interested know where they can find the various bits and pieces of music I'm working on... obviously I want a wide audience, but more importantly, I want feedback from those who know and love me.
We all know MySuck is terrible - yeah, I'll keep four tunes up there and whatever [ www.myspace.com/dustindecker ] ... but it's clunky and juvenille. Tribe doesn't provide a medium for sharing media such as this, nor do I think I would care for it to become a focus in such a wonderful community or I would suggest it time and again to Mark Pincus. I have my own personal website, but my bandwidth can cost me a lot of cash after lots of downloads, so I've decided to solidify distribution for the time being on iCompositions. My Macintosh friends will certainly appreciate the interface and such (even though I myself don't own a Mac - yet) and it's a great place for me to collaborate with artists abroad. (You can also provide feedback on the site, which I crave.)
So, if you're in the browsing mood, my artist page is located here:
www.icompositions.com/artists/kyrka
Each new release will be posted in this tribe, with a direct link to the new song on iCompositions. Enjoy, and stay tuned... I've got lots of stuff on the front burner now.
Luv,
Dustiin

Re: Where's the Music? (Distribution)
Fri, October 6, 2006 - 7:47 AMhave you ever checked out www.fanmusicreview.com/index.jsp ? Great place to get feedback on songs and they have contests. I write stuff on their sister site FanStory.com and love how much my writing has improved from suggestions of the knowledgable people there. -

Re: Where's the Music? (Distribution)
Fri, October 6, 2006 - 8:45 AMAwe crap! I really should test changes I make.
I moved all the music that isn't "me" out of the web root, and changed a few things. I've had 300+ megabytes of transfer this month already!
It's a good sign I'm becoming more "popular" but at that rate, I'll be charged close to $150.00 for bandwidth at the end of the month.
I'm gonna be pushing folks to sponge from the other sites that have free bandwidth. ;-)

Much luv to all,

Re: Where's the Music? (Distribution)
Sat, October 14, 2006 - 4:00 AMHave you thought of uploading a video withyour music to your tribe profile through Revver.com? They actually pay you everytime someone watches it. Not sure how much, but it can add up, especially when you can make...uh, I mean ask, all your friends to watch it repeatedly time and time again!! *grins*
