Re: college?
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 10:53 AMI never had any idea what I was doing in school or why I had to be there, never had any ambition or chosen career path, changed majors every 5 minutes, and finally settled for the safest, English - hated every minute of school until college and then fell in love with learning and just wanted to learn everything. Basically I think I was meant to be independently wealthy. But something went wrong!! -

Re: college?
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 12:30 PMI went to college.. several times. First in PA (clarion Univ.) - as an English Major. Then I went to the community college & decided to get a 2 year degree quick. I picked psychology..cuz it seemed like it would be useful no matter whut - cuz everyone's crazy! Then I went to W.C.U. and got a degree in middle grades language arts and social studies. and I use my degree to teach hooping!
LOL
Get out of school as fast as possible.. is my advice.
I don't miss school.

Re: college?
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 3:46 AMI went to Art School so there are no defeinates when it comes to what its for. I suppose I am engaged in many creative practices and I teach as well. Many fine artists go on to become many different things within the wide rangeing creative industries, quite often creating a few as well.
Generally I would say a fine art education is a good thing. If nothing else it teaches you how to learn and gives you the mechanisms to develop and create outcomes successfully. -

Re: college?
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 9:21 AMI always liked science but what part I wasn't sure. I had a really great Biology and Environmental sciences teachers in junior high. I got my BS in Microbiology and another BS in Microbiology/Biochemistry at University of Idaho. Then I got my MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Montana. I still work in that department so I guess I am putting my education to good use. =) -

Re: college?
Tue, May 6, 2008 - 9:23 AMOh when I started college I was torn between English and Science. I decided to do english as a hobby and science as a job, the pay was better. =) I am taking a writing class now and plan on taking more in the future. Who knows maybe I will get another degree someday. -
