i am newly diagnossed with onion histimine reaction... which has left me will hives... and even sent me to the hospital with swelling of my voice box and nearly unable to breathe.. i was definately short of breath... so i got a new toy today... epipen... lucky me.... my biggest issue here is that i have flowers every where outside. including all kinds of alliums... irises, even garlics.... im really into my gardens.... oh and lilys.... someone please tell me that irises and lilys are not related to onion allergies.... i can get rid of the allium easily.... i will miss them dearly but ill make due.... my gardens are famous for my planted onions.... before now i really didnt have this problem.. it has started slowly with joint pains here and there rulled out everything else... stopped eating onions it went away.... started eating them again slowly and it seemed to be resolved.... then started eating more and then the alliums bloomed and hive heaven i became... the incident yesterday happened when i was sweeping in my hallway near the open window by the allium garden. i suspect that pollens had come in and made themselves a home and when i swept they were tossed back into the air in a large amount. or this could have been brewing for several days as i have had hives for many many days on and off.

ok so please educate me i need it...

ps if you have pollen/ flower allergies please dont come visit....
