The Cross actually has a top hanging section which has arms and armor of a knight.
I removed it to be used on my belt as part of my tankard hook. Guess I shouldn't have done it.

Very much so. When Pax and were researching deep into the Order a number of years ago, we discovered that the Order of Santo Stefano was heavily based on the Order of St. John; in icons, outward vestment, goals and in the actual running of the order itself.
