This sunday at Watershed in SE Portland, a meeting has been called among fire performers and fire art creators of all types to discuss the possibility that Portland Fire Department may change/eliminate/increase the permitting process, and to discuss other issues relating to fire performance in this town.

The PFD permitting process and possible changes
Fire Performance in public parks and the communications we've received from the Parks Department about the No Flame regulation
The Spin Jam being shut down
A future Fire Arts Expo in Portland

This will NOT be the only conversation about this - any proposed change that comes from the fire performance community will be circulated widely and go through several public meetings, including a public hearing with the Fire Department.

In a nutshell, possible changes might include a card issued to people or troupes per year after taking a few hours training.
