The aim of this forum is to encourage Orthodox Christians in southern Africa to communicate with each other. We may live in different diocese, different countries, and belong to different cultures or languages, but we still have many things in common, and may be in a position to help each other.

In our Archdiocese of Johannesburg and Pretoria, for example, we have been translating liturgical texts into Zulu, North Sotho and Afrikaans. Others may be able to make use of these, or we could be doing them as a cooperative venture.

Some may ask where is southern Africa - south of what? Well certainly south of the Zambezi River, and perhaps south of the Equator, which would include Tanzania, Malawi, Northern Mocambique, Zambia, southern Angola and the southern DRC. Orthodoxy is thin on the ground in all these countries, and so we share that in common too.
