From the planning minutes for Wolf Creek Beltane:
" THE GREAT MARRIAGE
this holiday is all about penis-in-vagina sex
very edgy for a bunch of queers
inherently funny
let's play with it
dress it up, psychodrama
play with that edge by holding a sacred wedding!
May King and Queen
symbolic union of a female butch and male queen
ritual consummation "

Re: BELTANE 2009
Thu, February 19, 2009 - 7:02 PMI truly love all of my heterosexual family and friends, and honor their rituals and unions, as we are all family.
Yet, here, in a Sanctuary paid for by Gay men, we see a planned ritual of a "butch" woman fucking a male "queen,"
is this not what the Christians would call aversion therapy? Is this the "higher" and "more evolved" spirituality tauted by those who rauted the Gay men out of the very Sanctuary the Gay men paid for to hold safe space in?
Can we talk about heterosexual priviledge?
The estemated 1100 Federal and State rights and priviledges denied me and my husband, yet freely enjoyed by the Beltane "King" and "Queen" who will ritualistically fuck at the Maypole come this Wolf Creek Beltane?
I wonder if the good Beltane attendees will bring their children to witness such spectacle, as children attend these events on the Wolf Creek Sanctuary now.
Imbibing of varied intoxicants, including the regular mushroom tea, is standard for many who now attend this annual ritual.

Re: BELTANE 2009
Fri, February 20, 2009 - 5:06 PMSeriously, having a King and Queen openly fuck as the heart of a ritual at a Gay men's Sanctuary, is this not karmically similar to how Christians work their aversion therapy against the LGBT community?
Very telling, I feel, that those who are planning this public show of heterosexual copulation are the very same pagans who target Gay men in chat rooms as being "sexist", "spiritually un-evolved" and lost in "identity politics."
Call homophobia for what it is -

Re: BELTANE 2009
Fri, February 20, 2009 - 5:16 PMImportant to note-
often the worst homophobes are from out of our very GLBT community, a toxic side-effect of mainstream culture's blatant homophobia. Think Ted Haggerty and Larry Craig. Hence a need for Sanctuary, a hope of a safe space for Gay men to heal, to connect with their spiritual roots, and not have to ask permission first from heterosexuals.
