The Bedroom DJs and Othermind Productions present:

Bloom
April 19th, 2008
In the Arizona desert

Spring is here, and it is quickly turning into summer. Our opportunities to camp comfortably in the desert are dwindling, and our community of music nuts has requested that we have just one more outdoor before summer. Join us as we take ourselves, some food and drink, and a sound system into the Arizona wilderness to camp, dance, and have a good time.

Audio Navigation provided by:

CL McSpadden
Mitch Mills
Matty (London West Records)
Nick Synergy (Sonic Dragon Records)
Hahn the Barbarian (Mechanical Dragon Records)

Deco by Stimulate Productions and YOU!

RSVP now - this is a limited attendance event. Send an email to goa@overmindworks.com (put "RSVP - Bloom" in the subject line) or visit London West Records - please provide your name, the names of those accompanying you, and your email address. You must RSVP by Friday, 4/18 in order to guarantee that you are sent directions on Saturday, 4/19.

This event is free to attend, but it does cost money to make it happen. If 30 or more people donate as little as $10 each, events such as this one are much more sustainable. Donations are accepted via PayPal (enter "Bloom" in the payment notes) at www.overmindworks.com or at London West Records.

Carpooling is STRONGLY encouraged, and we also recommend using vehicles with higher ground clearance (Trucks & SUVs). Most of the locations/roads used are Honda-friendly, but extreme caution is recommended. If you are unfamiliar with driving on forest roads, send us an inquiry.

This is a LEAVE NO TRACE event - this means we leave the area cleaner than we found it. Bring garbage bags, clean up the area around you, and take out what you bring with you. Bring flashlights, water, warm clothes, and everything you might need to survive for a night in the wilderness.

I won't be making it out to this. I had prior engagements to help out at Remedy. If I leave early I will try to gather up people who might be interested in going to this straight from the party. Have a blast!

    wooot!

had a great time...much respect to OMW and their family!

great location and awesome company was had that night-i didnt get to meet all of you but i'm sure i will the next time. :)

thank you Dj's for treating us to some awesome music-heard a lot of tunes i hadnt heard in a while and some different electronic styles throughout the night, which i thought was refreshing!

Matty came through with some so-funky-they-stank electro tinged numbers that got me wiggling like a truffle-shuffle during an earthquake.

thanks to Hank and Nick for throwing down some mind-melting Psy! my Chakras ignited when you two came on!!
Nick-you had me at hello when you dropped that "London" track w/the guitars and the Clooney quote...(not sure on the movie...one of the "oceans" movies? )
Hank, the last song you played-unfrickingbelievable-PsyBreak nastiness-luvvved it. i knew you were feeling it too because you were throwing down the double Slayers. ( /m/ /m/ ). this carried over to daybreak when you channeled your inner Rooster. quite a sight to behold-very fierce display of inner animal!

also noteworthy plays for me were an oldy but goody Orbital track ( i believe it was "Chime") played by The Bearded Maestro-didnt get his name-and an unknown proggy track that Chris played early in the night that had a haunting harmonica melody beautifully interwoven through its structure-awesomeness!!

thank you's also go out to the UV-wigged cyber-pixies who danced all night, the fire artists who sacrificed their skin (and half a beard) to entertain us, and last but certainly not least Tim, Micah and all the other OMW troopers for their effort in making a great event come to fruition! you guys are superstars!

the random people i met were very cool as well-great mix of people and minds-which is one of the things i loved when i first started to go to electronic music events.

best time i had in a long time-i really needed this-much love to all and i look forward to the next OMW event!

ps-special thanks to Cody (Dj Zombie) for the kickass mix CD!! big up to Dax who was the consummate professional vendor and all-around good karmic energy source.

David, it was great meeting you too.

I had a blast! This was the most fun I've had at a party in a looooong time. A drunk Micah is a happy Micah :)

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. See you next time!

It was great meeting you and having you with us, David. Come back anytime!

The "London" track I played is "Evolution #9" by The Melovskys (a couple guys from Mexico - go figure). The sample is from the movie "Snatch" - the actor is Dennis Farina. I believe it's the scene where he is conversing with/about Benicio Del Toro's character, which is toward the beginning of the movie.

"The Bearded Maestro" was Mitch Mills. He was the one playing the hard/acid techno and the higher-BPM stuff.

That was hands-down one of the best CL McSpadden sets I've ever heard. What a treat! It was a rare opportunity for me to be able to have a lineup like this, and they played even better than I expected.

The cyber-pixies were outfitted with headpieces from Loxology - loxology.com/ - If you know any other women who'd like to become cyber-pixies, you should direct them to that site. For fashion items/accessories, they are quite affordable.

The fire artists were from Stage 6 Productions, and we are thankful for their continued support and assistance.

Appreciation to Cody and friends for making the trip from New Mexico. I'm sorry Hank had to cut you off early - our plan was to get packed up and out of there before it got too hot, and that's precisely what happened.

      Thanks to... EVERYBODY!
