<br/>Fry up three strips of bacon.
<br/>Add cooked bacon to a clean pint sized mason jar. Trim the ends of the bacon if they are too tall to fit in the jar. Or you could go hog wild and just pile in a bunch of fried up bacon scraps. Optional: add crushed black peppercorns.
<br/>Fill the jar up with vodka. Cap and place in a dark cupboard for at least three weeks. That’s right- I didn’t refrigerate it.
<br/>At the end of the three week resting period, place the bacon vodka in the freezer to solidify the fats. Strain out the fats through a coffee filter to yield a clear filtered pale yellow bacon vodka.

<br/>Decant into decorative bottles and enjoy.

So, if anyone has any ideas for indoor venues (I have a few in mind) where we could feasibly do indoor events for the summer months, leave that info here or pm me with details. While I and Paul don't have a long history or events we've attended, we've gone to enougth of them to put this one at the top of the list for desert events in our estimation. (Karuna gets first place from us for indoor :)

<br/>I really want to let Chris and Kevin know how much I enjoyed their visuals. I found myself fasciantaed with Chris' light towers, which anyone can see by the number of photos I took from various angles with them in different light configuarations. And it was terrific to find a real-life proto Rainbow Cadenza. (For those who aren't savy, look up J Neil Shulman's sci-fi book - Kevin and I had quite a conversation over it and it's influence on his art.)
<br/>
<br/>All the other visual and audio effects - along with that great full moon and desert location - made for a terrific time. If Paul hadn't told me his legs were telling him to stop, I'd have kept on going at least another hour. But this morning my thighs let me know that they'd really been worked hard (that hill climbing during the day is probably what did it :).
<br/>
<br/>So once again - super terrific event! Can't praise it enough. I've returned value to OMW via the PayPal button in addition to the 5 gal of gas we brought - we received more value than we expected. I hope that everyone who was there returns value commensurate with the enjoyment/value they received from this event.

<br/>I don't know anything about how successful the donations thing has been but I would imagine it hasn't been very fruitful. I don't think that asking an admission price is too much to ask or that it deviates from any intentions of why the event is happening in the first place. It simply ensures that costs are covered and such.
<br/>
<br/>These are just my thoughts. I for one spend a lot of money on video gear, equipment and deco but don't really ever expect to make any of it back. But there are certain things like recurring costs that surely could be accounted for. Like whenever you guys rent that van, genny gas, water, etc.

<br/>Alien Jon:
<br/>Jonathan Everett has been spinning things since childhood, starting with himself, and expanding to socks with tennis balls in them and sticks found in the woods of Maine. Starting with his first pair of devilstix in 1995, he officially entered the world of object manipulation. In 1999, from a foundation built on devilstix and drawing inspiration from T'ai Ji and Aikido, he began spinning glowing objects on strings or in socks at "all night dance parties". After meeting other spinners he learned that objects had been spun in a similar manner for millennia by ancient cultures from around the world. This gave rise to the discovery of fire spinning, and his dedication to the art of contemporary poi began.
<br/>From devilstix and poi other object manipulation quickly followed: Sphereplay, staff, meteor, diabolo, and astrojax to name a few. These talents have been melded with a love of music and dance, including liquid, illusional, and funk styles. Jon loves to play and lives for the spark of innovation and creativity, while further honing his skill through diligent practice.
<br/>Jon has performed at the Fringe Benefit for the 1st Annual Boulder Fringe Festival, the 1st Annual Boulder Juggling Festival, Ratuva Circus performance and workshops, COSM Fire, the 2007 Burning Man Conclave, and with the ExtraTerrestrial Circus Experiment. He has taught classes around the country in poi, sphereplay, and devilstix at the Double Rainbow Ranch, Boulder Circus Center, 1st Annual Boulder Juggling Festival, Shepherd Valley Waldorf School, SphereCamp East and West, Domba/Mystic Jewell Dance Studio, Wildfire (CT), Florida State University, and at Renaissance Festivals country-wide. He also teaches private lessons.

<br/>Zan started performing in South America on tour with his brother Noah, and continues to burn with the same inspired passion as in the beginning. <br/>I'll be at the SASCO ruins
<br/>just outside of Casa Grande.
<br/>I'll be getting there at around 10am,
<br/>with a bunch of contractor grade
<br/>trash bags, a couple rakes and shovels,
<br/>a cooler full of beer, a bunch of meat,
<br/>a B-B-Q and a large sound system.
<br/>
<br/>Me and some friends will be doing some clean-up
<br/>and working on our tans during the day,
<br/>"sandwiches at the shooting range" for lunch,
<br/>with the B-B-Q firing up around 4 pm.
<br/>we are also going to be setting up the sound,
<br/>spinning some fire tools,
<br/>and burning some other stuff.

<br/>In the morning we will do a line sweep,
<br/>load up the trash we picked up,
<br/>and then will have breakfast somewhere on the way home.

<br/>My thoughts are to fly into Reno (or Sacramento depending on airfare), rent a van or large occupancy vehicle, and make the short drive over. I really would much rather do something like that instead of driving the entire what, 18 hours from Phoenix? No thanks! It was fun and all but man that was rough.

<br/>I figure if we don't get a big enough group of people we could always just rent a small car. I'd also much rather make the drive from Reno mainly for the scenery. Apparently the drive from Sacramento is booooooooring. </div>

I bashed up the front of my truck last friday when some driver decided to hesitate at a stop light causing me to slide on the wet road right into the back of his indestructible SUV. Sad times.

<br/>Bottom line is, the truck doesn't run well and has no headlights. So I'm stuck without transportation.

<br/>I was planning to be up there friday in order to have everything setup before the party starts but I suppose I could just get there whenever possible.

<br/>If anyone could help me out with a ride up there it would be much appreciated. I'll help with gas and expenses.
<br/>
<br/>Please note that I'm bringing deco and my video gear so I do have a little bit of equipment to take with me. Not more that a couple boxes though. </div>

First of all, I want to give a huge thanks to all the DJs, promoters, support staff, and trancers who braved the roads, desert heat, and insect bombardment to celebrate life with us this last weekend. It was truly a memorable experience and I'm glad I was able to be a part of it. Huge props to Eric for your help in putting this all together. It was great working with you, and I look forward to more events in the future. Thanks to all the out-of-town Audio Navigators (Mark, Wendy, Gwyn, and Cody). You guys all played great sets, and we'll get you the recordings asap. I'm glad everyone seemed to enjoy the location (though maybe not the road to it). It was brand new for us, but it's so beautiful and secluded that we'll definitely be trancing again there soon. I hope everyone who came out had as great a time as I did getting it all put together. See you all next time.

Friday night brought rain and snow, which unfortunately forced us to pack up the gear until the next day, when nature turned in our favor. I was glad to see so many people hanging out with us, even through the crappy weather. Saturday we got things up and running around 3, and the music was spot-on for the remainder of the event. Great sets from all the Audio Navigators, and having Trance Psyndicate here to grace us with their unique style of psy madness was an extra special treat. Huge thanks go to everyone who came out and enjoyed this weekend with us.

<br/>spent 6 months gathering evidence: video footage, photographs, news articles,
<br/>etc. On 29 Jam 2007, the package was sent to Guinness and the long wait began.
<br/>
<br/>Now, they wait no more. It's official, the Ocean of Fire project is the current
<br/>world record holder for most number of fire breathers in one location. the
<br/>certificate has been sent from Guinness and will be auspiciously posted on the
<br/>website upon arrival.
