Please join us for a special Waxing Moon Celebration and weekend, this
Saturday October 20 and 21 at Ozark Avalon. We will have a potluck BBQ
with burgers provided by Ozark Avalon, an old fashioned hayride to the
new stone circle at Red Bud and a waxing moon ritual by Cat and Sage.
Children and adults are welcome to wear costumes and there will be
prizes for the best. We will have candy for the kids.
Saturday morning starting around 9:00 we will gather to clean our
adopt-a-highway. This is actually kind of fun and will only take about
2-3 hours if we can get 6-10 volunteers. It's a chance to give back to
Gaia in a very direct way as well as to keep our sign up as a help for
new friends to find us. Splitting and shacking wood will be our other
task for the workday.
We will have our hayride around 3pm and judge the costumes around 4:30
with games and prizes and the potluck BBQ starting around 6pm. Ritual
should be around 8pm . Stay up after ritual for hot cider, candy
apples, drumming, dancing and social time around a large revel bonfire.
Sunday will be our year and a day class; this will focus on Wiccan
aspects of death, dying and change. We will take new prayer flags to
the Memorial spirit garden and clean the area in preparation for the
Samhain season. We will also plan the main ritual for the Samhain
Embracing the Dark weekend. Class is open to all: a work commitment of 5
hours or $25 is asked as an energy exchange to the church. A new series
of classes will be starting in November so you may attend this one to
see if this style of learning works for you. The class will start at 11
and last to around 3:30:pm with a break for lunch.
Sunday afternoon around 4 pm we will have a Board meeting to discuss
next years schedule, changes in our ordination program, next years
budget and other business. Feel free to let us know nay ideas or
concerns you might have.
This weekend is free and open to all. Food or monetary donations are
certainly welcome by those who can share.
You may camp or stay in the retreat center if you are working. Otherwise
the camping fee of $5 (OakSpirit ) or $10 (other adult) is requested.
Children are free.
