1. MLB.com
This site is the official site of Major League Baseball. This site has everything a MLB fan should need. Right when you reach the site you are bombarded, in a good way, with today's top stories and up to date scores. You can visit your favorite teams websites and search and endless amount of stats.
2. Baseball-reference.com
This site is more for the baseball fanatic. This site is a giant database of stats and scores dating back to 1871! The site is also a greatly updated site with all the information you can possibly consume of a days worth of baseball.
3. Baseball.com
This site is for the more laid back baseball fan. This particular site doesn't jump out of the screen and punch you in the face. However it allows you to easily maneuver to what ever you are looking for.

All of these sites are quite the same. But each has its own identity.

The baseball season has begun. In just this short period of time the season is shaping up to be a good one. This week I want to give out my early season awards. The first award I want to give out is the biggest surprise award. The winner of this category is the Kansas City Royals. Nobody thought these guys would be atop their division two weeks into the season. With a young and inexperienced team they are playing great fundimental baseball. They are stealing bases, making plays in the field, and pitching lights out. They suffered in all three of these categories last season. Manager Trey Hillman is my early pick for coach of the year if these guys can keep it up. Well moving on from the surprises to the dissapointments. The most dissapointing team so far this season has to be the Detroit Tigers. Many experts picked them to be World Series contenders this year. However, it took them eight games to chalk up their first win. The dream team lineup is hitting a dreadful .234. The dream team pitching staff is not doing much better hurling a 5.20 era this season. Now in all fairness injuries have plagued the team a bit, but I honestly do not believe this team is going to pick up the pieces. I have them finishing third in the A.L. Central. My award for favorite team to watch goes to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now I admit I am a fan of the Dbacks, but anyone who loves baseball would love to watch this team play the game. They do everything right and they are so young. Three players in their starting lineup are under the age of 24, and all of them are off to smokin hot starts. But, the bread and butter for the Dbacks is thier pitching staff. Brandon Webb has had two solid starts and has two wins. New comer Dan Haren has also had two quality starts and has one victory. The biggest stroy coming out of Arizona is Doug Davis. He was recently diagnosed with cancer, and stuck around for his first two starts while Randy Johnson was hurt. He pitched well in both starts and got a win. He will be missing the next month as he goes through surgery and rehabilitation. Lastly I would like to make my predictions for the 2008 playoffs. Coming out of the N.L. I have the Dbacks, Mets, Cubs, and Brewers. Out of the A.L. I have the Red Sox, Angels, Indians, and White Sox. My 2008 World Series features the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. LA Angels. The winner.... The Arizona Diamondbacks. You can boo me for being a homer but they have what it takes.

Hello and welcome to Peanuts and Cracker Jacks. This blog will be updated daily/weekly depending on when i get to it! Topics will include the highs and lows of the 2008 baseball season. Steroids will not be talked about in this blog. This is dedicated to the love of the game, and not the idiots that tarnished it. However, I will discuss players who are still playing that were involved in the steroid mess, but only about the caliber of their play. Thanks for joining and have a great season.
