Re: Jerks online who play the good doer but insult people as soon as they get a chance!
Fri, August 25, 2006 - 2:52 PMVero, I feel ya. I am constantly reminded that a lot of people use the relative anonymity of online communication to be utter pricks. I try to never say anything to someone online that I wouldn't say face to face. And what the fuck? Was it *her* blog you were responding to, or was she just passing judgement on your reply to someone else's blog?
And If one more person recommends that fucking 4 agreements book to me, I may kill someone. If I ever had *any* interest in reading it, it is GONE! Some of the rudest, most mean spirited people I know read that book like it's a fucking bible. Clearly, it doesn't help!

Fri, August 25, 2006 - 5:03 PMHere are MY four agreements:
1. Never get my entire life philosophy from a book, any book.
2. Treat others as I want to be treated.
3. Treat others as they want to be treated.
4. Eat a lot of chocolate.

As one who is often popular culture challenged, could someone enlighten me about this four agreements book? Is it a trendy new form of self-help, relationship skills-building, or what?

Re: Jerks online who play the good doer but insult people as soon as they get a chance!
Mon, August 28, 2006 - 12:50 AMActually i will get kicked for saying that but the 4 agreements book is a wonderfull book. It is a little reminder that we need to be kinder to ourselves as people, not buying into our culture, the media, our environement, the judgement that we were raised in to believe that we are something that we are truly not! i have studied many religions, philosophy and this is a very sweet philosophical book! Some people read it as the bible maybe but, sometimes, it is nice to have a reminder that we are only people, yes we are not perfect but we have more power than we think! Some aspect of Don Luis the writer, i am not into at all, mostly when he got into the religious stuff because i am not religious at all! So people kick me but i think that it is a sweet book and it wouldn't hurt to read it because we are more beautifull than people told us when we grew up, we are smarter than people let us believe and we have more power than we think! now you can all throw up in disgust if you wish :D
Peace! -

Re: Jerks online who play the good doer but insult people as soon as they get a chance!
Mon, August 28, 2006 - 10:14 AMThinking it's a sweet book is entirely different from basing your entire life on it, or any, book. Plus, my personal four agreements don't include kicking those who disagree with me. Unless, of course, that's what they'd prefer. -

Mon, August 28, 2006 - 11:47 AMI agree with you. it is good to get some ideas from book but people must be able to make up their own mind and have their own identity but again i would be a bad guru!!1 So what do i know!
I AM SURE you could find plenty of people who want to have their ass kicked lol
