Re: Pressure at work!
Thu, September 7, 2006 - 11:58 AMI sale the Americas to the Europeans, it isn't the sale that i hate, but the fact that daily they keep bugging you to sell and keep reminding you that they can get rid of you any time...that is the part that sucks!
yes i am seriously thinking of looking for another one already!:D -

Re: Pressure at work!
Sun, September 10, 2006 - 12:30 PMI've always hated sales... in fact if I get solicitations about taking one..I just won't do it...it's bad enough when you have quotas to deal with..but your paycheck's dependant on them...really sucks..
are you pretty much interested in working in the travel industry?.. It's pretty much commissioned based -- unless you're more on the hospitality side (airlines, etc...) those jobs have perks!! (free travel!)...

Re: Pressure at work!
Sun, September 10, 2006 - 4:48 PMI am feeling like America needs to switch to a four day work week. We would all be happier. I need another day. I'm not ready to go back to work tomorow. I liked the four day week we had last weekend.

Sun, September 10, 2006 - 5:28 PMMake a list of requests, and as soon as I am elected God (yes, for those of you who don't already know, I am actively campaigning and have been for years), I will begin making changes. I had actually already planned on flipping the weekend/work week to 2 on, 5 off.
"Vote Web for God. Shit's gonna change!"

Re: Pressure at work!
Mon, September 18, 2006 - 11:45 AMJust be glad you don't live in Japan!
The average work week there is SIX days from 7:am till 8:pm
Even Japanese Schoolkids have a longer schoolday.
In America a child is only required to attend shool(grade and high school) a piddly 5 hrs per day five days a week.(from about 8:30 am till 2:30 pm or so)
In Japan these same kids attend school from 8:am till 5:pm! -

Re: Pressure at work!--Jake
Mon, September 18, 2006 - 10:56 PMJake, I never lived in Japan but i was in SF not so long ago.I worked in a homeless shelter and believe it or not, often my days averaged 17hours STRAIGHT! Misscheduling, shortage of counselors, my weeks were pretty longs! And often i had to fight to have an extra day off! So i wasn't in Japan but i was in America!:D -

Wed, September 20, 2006 - 6:41 PMVero
I'm aware that a LOT of jobs here require LOONG hours
a Buddy of mine is a Dean at a College here...his "work day" begins at 8:am and ends at 8:pm about 290 days out of the year.
12 hr work days aren't uncommon these days.

Re: Pressure at work!
Tue, September 19, 2006 - 5:45 PMI am a teacher. My work days look like that and my students are in school from 7AM to 3:30PM. Not as many hours as Japan, but not as few as most. We are ridiculed for working too hard. -
