OK so many of us have heard of "living off the grid" communial living off the land with no ties to government or taxes or bills etc...
FOr me personally this is a bit to extreme... However teatering on the edge of the grid.... well that seems fabulous. I am considering solar panels for starters. as well as converting all appliances( furnace and water heater ) to electric.
Next step would be a water collection and filter/purifying system...
any ideas on this... any other "off the grid" solutions?

Wed, June 18, 2008 - 4:05 PMHave you heard of "Countryside" magazine? I just recently renewed my subscription after nearly a decade. It has all sorts of stuff like that. It's basically just lots practical advice from people that have "been there" and have been doing it for a long time. Yeh, some it is a bit extreme, but I find myself reading every last article and thinking to myself: "Hummmm . .. . "
