I just read the 'Proceedings of the Seventh Symposium of Societas Celtologica Nordica' ed. by Mícheál Ó Flaithearta, in which can be found Jacqueline Borsje's (very interesting) article 'The ‘terror of the night’ and the Morrígain: Shifting faces of the supernatural'. It is an inquiry into the representation of certain supernatural creatures in Fothad's poem 'Reicne Fothaid Canainne' (declaimed after his death to the woman with whom he was supposed to have a tryst the night of his slaying), focusing primarily on the Morrígain and 'úatha'. I would be interested to hear some opinions/reactions to this (a MhacMorríghain, you're up) particularly in how this relates to current cultic practice involving the Morrígain.
