Party Like It's 1789! Rococo Revival

public - created 06/27/07
High and low, no era partied better than the late 1700s, save for the 1920s, but the styles of that era, especially for women were too severely modern / androgynous (think Chanel and flappers), so that women's clothes and hair wouldn't get caught in the winds of change and mechanical motion.

Let's bring back a by-gone era in style, especially for the ladies (no powdered wigs for me -- I can barely shop for black jeans much less put on a suit)! The style tropes of the 'Naughties (our decade now) and the late Twentieth Century have been played out and done over so many times.

Let's bring back an era in community oriented partying at local places, decorated in wood, or with earth floors, or even picnicking under trees or ruins....
