So, we've busy, busy, busy up here in Humboldt workin' on the P-cubed Oasis lately; B-rad and I are leavin' in twelve days, so we haven't had a lot of time to do anything but charge forward. As of this weekend, here's what we've got in terms of completed parts for the bar:
*eight 10' stringers and 32 3' treads (since we made them here, all we have to do is put them together like legos when we get out there)
*Six 2'x4'x16' trusses (to hold the floor up)
* the cieling for upstairs (Thank You, Flix) cut, tied together, and marked with a big P3 so that we all can find our bar on google earth when we get back
* One of the three walls (thanks again to Flix) cut and tied together.
Before B-Rad and I depart, here's a look at what we still have left to do next weekend:
Cut 50 more coffee sacs, and zip tie together three more walls
...no problem....
We're goin' shopping next weekend, as well, and plan on gettin' the entire stock of booze, mixers, and fuel takin' care of. Again, thank you to Each and Everyone of You for makin' the booze happen!! We hit our goal budget (I think) for the booze by collecting $2000. We're still figuring out the fuel part of the budget, but I think we're goin' to be fine.
What we realized we might have a problem with, though, is lighting. Does anyone have rope lights? We've got a stash up here that a friend is lending us, but we're goin' to need something like 400 feet of it (we have to light upstairs, downstairs, and the stairs)!!!
As well, does anyone have any five gallon gas tanks they can bring out (with fuel in it) for the genny? We're workin' on transport up here, and though we've got three trucks, one is filled exclusively with tools and personal gear for B-Rad and I. That's puttin' a strain on our packin' abilities. We've got a friend who's generously signed on to bring out all the woodwork we've done here, though, and for that we are gracious!! We're figurin' on a couple of gallons a day for eight days, so we'd need 4-6 five gallon tanks for fuel.
I think that's it for now; I'm a bit fried to think very clearly... But yeah, rope lights and gas tanks...who's got some!!!
Thanks EVERYONE!!! We're super excited up here! Something tells me you know what I mean ;)

We just got our lumber transport secured this morn. With a little luck, when we get there, there will be 1000 running feet of 2x4, and 12 4x4 posts awaitin' us!!
eleven days until we leave!!

Re: an update
Tue, July 29, 2008 - 10:37 AMJust to clarify, that's 5 gallons of non-diesel, standard unleaded gasoline, right? Does octane matter? 87? 89? 91? -

Tue, July 29, 2008 - 11:09 PMYoubethca, NovySan; I don't rightly think the octane matters very much...but then again, I don't know too much about that kind of stuff. I say, go for the cheap stuff...well, relatively speakin', of course. Thanks so much!
