pagans and pagan festivals wanted!

yes, thats right, the owners Ralph and Karen of Chinook Bend resort 2 miles from hwy 101 south of Lincoln City, want to offer their 85 acres for large pagan festivals. What they have is a resort, that is private property! They already know some of us and are anxious to presuade the local pagan community to look to their way for more and larger festivals!

(I paid for a weekend but also payed an add'l 17 bucks per night, to stay longer and explore the coast and pay respects and ritual at the sea and talk some sea shore sunset pix, it took about one tank of gas round trip was about 130 miles from Orchards wa, via I-5 Salem and sr22, but shorter back on 99w)

You pay to set up your tent, or your camper or even rent a camper from them. You can also rent a kayak, launch a boat, dig a fire pit, they will even deliver wood to burn if you're willing to pay for it, you can drum or dance your ass off to all hours, they have porta potties and running water on the tent camping field, also near the dock and river are restrooms with hot water showers, a laundry room, pay phone, a small convenience store, a kiddies play ground and gazebo, and another store at the top of the hill with a sunday brunch and two weekend meals servered buffet style for both vegetarians or meateaters. Animals to pet and ways to walk, and golf to play!

The only thing they don't want there is serious drug users and absolutely no white powdery substances.

It would be my recommendation, if any local pagan group does not want to add another festival under their wings, that a layed back low organizational team arrange the registrations and collect the money, let volunteers manage workshops all around the main fire and all attendee's be asked to volunteer a spontaneous ritual circle cast and call rather than organizing a high drama, or invite various groups to offer a performed ritual if they want, and allow vendors, as well.

I think it deserves serious consideration and discussion. Particularly with Lammas approaching, and the no risk of fire hazard, which tends to hamper most festival planning, aside from not having saved space for all the tents, neither of which is an issue here.

Hey all. 9 Houses has decided to revoke approval of my ritual that was supposed to be for NWFEF 2009. Without explanation, mind you, telling me that if I was told my ritual was approved than that was wrong, even though it was numerous 9 Houses members who had told me I was approved for 2009 and would be doing closing ritual for 2008.

SO, if anyone would be interested in a main ritual that surrounds The Fool and overcoming Obstacles by embracing the teachings of The Fool, I would be happy to produce it for this event. I'll just move Pagan Pride to a different weekend.

Sincerely,
Mama Gaea

when i put this subject up for conversation earlier this year i got a variety of helpful hints

the main question before trying to figure out the best option for our little camp out is...

how much do people want to pay? we could use a national, state or county public land site for a minimal use fee or even free. we could try to approach various private land trust groups asking to rent.....how much could we potentially raise for the added perks of privacy and potentially being able to burn and be loud till later?

I personally don't need to party and be loud till the wee hours of the morning. I am more interested in having a food and ritual focused experience and being mellow. this is not a big fire festival in my mind, but more just sharing the bounty and gratitude type of thing. I also wouldn't mind throwing down a couple hundred dollars for a nice long weekend that was in a more remote location with other attributes.

anyone?

Repost: Full Circle Women's Temple is Closing -

Full Circle Temple Closing Celebration (March 1 and 2)

For thirteen years, Full Circle Temple has stood at 3125 E Burnside, holding sacred space and sanctuary for self-identified women and girls. Together we've celebrated the cycles of the year, practiced consensus, welcomed guests, made altars, tended our garden, sung, drummed, and prayed. We've loved our mother Earth, found beauty in our diverse spirituality, and seen God/dess in each other's faces.

Now it's time to acknowledge that what has been is no longer sustainable, to release it with love and gratitude, and to open the space for something new.

On Saturday evening March 1, women are invited to spend a last night at Full Circle Temple. We'll make dinner, circle by the fire, tell stories, and give thanks. Some of us will keep vigil and greet the dawn.

At noon on Sunday, March 2, we will hold a public ceremony to close Full Circle Temple and open the space to its next purpose. We invite not only women from the Temple community, but also neighbors and friends of all genders from the larger community to witness and celebrate with us.

Following the ceremony there will be music and refreshments, as well as a silent auction, sale, and giveaway. Proceeds benefit the Temple's back rent, so participating in the sale is a way to help balance out the Temple's karmic debt and bring home a piece of sacred herstory.

We thank all those who have loved and contributed to Full Circle Temple over the years, and honor the ancestors and other spirits who have blessed us with their presence. We know that the sacred energy we have raised here is not ending -- just returning to the womb of creation to be reborn. We look forward to the new sprouts that will come from the deep and magical seeds we have planted.

Terri Treat, the owner of the property and one of the Temple's founders, is actively seeking a new tenant or buyer for the space. With its rich and auspicious history, this would be a wonderful home for a community organization. For more information, contact Terri at 503/320-9403.
