I'm pulling the late shift at the fire jam this Sunday... I usually can't stay late, but I feel like I miss a bunch of peeps I'd like to see. There's a lot happening that day, and I expect more people to be at this 3rd Sunday's fire jam... I can help load the safety gear and get it back to the Watershed. What time is pack up time? How well does safety sustain itself later in the evening? Anyone else planning to help the late shift? Who's on set up? Any new volunteers?

Re: April 20th
Fri, April 18, 2008 - 2:40 PMI'm there for set-up and tear-down. It'll be cold that night, so maybe earlier than 10pm.
Last Sunday at the end there was spotter I didn't recognize (as well as Alan & DLB). Didn't catch his name.
It would be good to have a regularly scheduled class for spotters at the jam. Say at 9PM, whether anyone shows up for it or not. The problem is being heard over the drums. Maybe at the far side of the fire circle, opposite the drums. I'll do it next month if no one else is up for it, but I'd like to hear DLBs version first.
I'm about half-way through writing "Fire Safety for Spinners." (The one for jugglers is out of date and doesn't work well for spinners anyway.) When it's done it will be free to download from my website (www.foreworks.com), and I'll probably have print copies at the jam.
