Anyone like to share a story about an experience they had with being treated for an injury without the use of going under the knife. Were you able to recover well after the treatment? How Are you now? What form of treatment did they use?
ie: Theraputic Massage useing the modality of Cyriax cross fiber fiction helped me recover from an old injury that evolved scar tissue build of a fall I took in Kung Fu. I landed hard on my infraspinatus on a rock. This was exciting be able to experience no more pain after several sessions of massage Therapy.

Mon, September 18, 2006 - 1:00 PMYou're preachin' to the choir, Draco, my friend. I just saw a news clip about an OHSU doc who was preforming surgery on broken ribs now (which I feel is absolutely ridiculous). A friend of mine came to me because she was in pain from three broken ribs after a climbing incident. I used cranial and myofascial tech. to ease the intercostals in the area, balace the ribcage within its fascial, and calm the sympathetic enervation to the area. She was 80% pain-free the next day and wanted to start working out again a week later.
This sort of thing is even more prevalent with pharmacology. The needless antibiotics, analgesics, steroids and the like, that are given to those who could just as easily healed themselves if given the proper work to bring their bodies naturally back into balance. And this addiction to the quick fix, this belief that meds are the answer, is just as much the publics fault as it is the fault of the docs and big pharm. Don't get me wrong; I've seen the right drug save lives, but we need to spread the awareness that much of what people seek a doctor for can be treated by a LMT, chiro, etc. -

Thank you for your much needed comments....it's definately the responsibility of the whole community in spreading the awareness so others will know about the other options....but just as much their responiblity as well to seek out knowledge to better themselves.
Anyone else like to add something to this?
