Re: online friends ?
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 2:39 PMSometimes online friends just take those last little tiny shreds of innocence a person has left and flushes them right down the head, too.
Especially this crew...
Just sayin'.
;)

Re: online friends ?
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 2:42 PMWho has stolen your innocence, Craig!? That's just wrong. -

Re: online friends ?
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 3:07 PMThat girl's ice cream is getting around! I haven't been able to try it, as I can't find it in my store. Is it worthy?
Lisa, I only have baby carrots, and they are MAD difficult to grate. Will anything else do? I still have carnitas left from the other night (slow-cooked in the juice of an orange and lime, and LOTS of spices...seriously good stuff).
Now I'm hungry <lol>. Off to find some lunch! -

Re: online friends ?

Re: online friends ?
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 5:14 PMLOL - yes, we are corrupting him....
and yes, the ice cream is eminently worthy :) Though tonight I'm back to Dulce de Leche, as I shopped at Whole Foods instead. Did have some fab sushi for dinner.
And now I'm drinking a Leinenkugel's....who is corrupting whom, I ask ?

Sun, May 11, 2008 - 2:46 AM<<often they are just people socially handicapped

Might be trolling. Might just be a poorly worded and sincere observation.
Indeed, I came to tribe when I was feeling socially isolated. Got hooked and the addiction has outlasted my the severity of my vision problem. I also found my focus moving from issues and discussions to friendship.
Due to my particular circumstances I was interested in this issue for a time. I was also acutely aware of tribes importance to me for socialisation. I posted on it in a few spots and found that for many tribe represents the opportunity to access a social network for instant and deeper interaction and that for some - tribe was the only way of doing so. People like stay at home mums, unemployed, "disabled" and the lonely can switch the computer on to find friends and that is really important. The value of tribe to so many socially isolated people should not be forgotten nor underestimated.
Having said that - tribe is also just good place to break the working day and have some fun and lean things and access special interest groups and I would say people doing those things far outnumber the "socially isolated".

I understand your point Bloke but judging from the other posts this member has made it is just a trolling remark sadly. -

Re: Online friendly off topic nicenesseses ; )
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 4:47 PMHmm.... bacon and chocolate. Two of my favorite foods. But I don't know. I typically enjoy unusual combiinations, but this one sounds a likttle weird. I guess I'll just have to whip up a batch and check it out.
And I just love the link saying "never bashful with butter." It reminds me of Paula Deene. She does a cooking show on the food network and I swear she uses a pound or more of butter in every dish. Now that's my kind of cooking!

Re: Online friendly off topic nicenesseses ; )
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 5:26 PMI received this chocolate bar for Christmas, and have been waiting for a certain very shy Triber to come and eat it with me, as discussed <g>.
www.vosgeschocolate.com/produc...dy_bars
So, I'm still dying to know if they go well together, or no. I'm thinking yes, though. I like sweet with my bacon (as in, dipping it in the extra maple syrup on one's waffle plate). -
-
Re: Online friendly off topic nicenesseses ; )
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 6:04 PMVery interesting. I have a thing for maple syrup on my sausage. That sweet/sour thing is so cool. I also love a family favorite. We have a Pennsylvania German background and one of our specialties is hot bacon dressing. Usually, it's a dressing for lettuce - or endive or dandelion for a nice bitter taste, but it can also be used for potato salad. Mmmmm..... now you're all making me hungry!

Re: Online friendly off topic nicenesseses ; )
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 6:29 PMMmmm. My step-mom made that for us last month. Wilted lettuce salad, it was. Extremely yummy!! I so need to get some bacon in this house <lol>. -

Re: Online friendly off topic nicenesseses ; )
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 8:25 PMOMG!!! This is *not* the place for a girl on a diet to come. Sheebus! I've already ate ice cream, cake, pie, bacon and now BFG had to bring the potato salad with bacon!!! Now I have to go make my avocado pie. I think I just gained 5 pounds. Anybody got any ideas how to work it off? I think Craig said something about "Wicked Worthy"? -

Well.. that might scare me off !!!! But I would come and eat haggis with you Grrrr (haggis - yuck!)
Maybe your bait should be changed to some Belgian Chocolates.. I wish you luck in the hunt :) -
-
Re: Online friendly off topic nicenesseses ; )
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 11:39 PMI'd *make* a haggis, of it'd get you over here to eat it with me, Blokey : ). Then we could go find something yummy to wash the taste out of our mouths, eh? Whleah! But at least I'd have you <sawooooooon>. -
-
Re: Online friendly off topic nicenesseses ; )
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 12:11 AMTeeheee..
You know the traditional "sauce" for Haggis - I would think there would have to be a lot involved to get me to eat it..
I am a pretty adventurous eater.. but haggis and sushi (don't like the texture) are off the Bloke Menu.. -
-
Re: Online friendly off topic nicenesseses ; )
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 12:31 AMYes, it's never been at the top of my list, either <g>. Perhaps that's why whiskey is so popular in that part of the world!
