The experts say that the she-wolf never kills her sickly wolf-cubs. She makes her other cubs do it. The she-wolf herself gives the cubs the first lesson in hunting in a group. And the cubs' first victim is their weaker brother. But once the weaker ones are disposed of, the she-wolf protects the rest. In case of danger she would rather sacrifice herself than let anyone harm them. By destroying the weaker cubs the she-wolf preserves the purity and strength of her offspring, permitting only the strong to live. This is very close to the process of selection within spetsnaz. At the outset the weaker soldier is naturally not killed but thrown out of spetsnaz into a more restful service. When a unit is carrying out a serious operation behind enemy lines, however, the wolf-cubs of spetsnaz will kill their comrade without a second thought if he appears to weaken. The killing of the weak is not the result of a court decision but of lynch law. It may appear to be an act of barbarism, but it is only by doing so that the wolves have retained their strength for millions of years and remained masters of the forests until such a time as an even more frightful predator — man — started to destroy them on a massive scale.
But the she-wolf has also another reputation, and it is no accident that the Romans for centuries had a she-wolf as the symbol of their empire. A strong, wise, cruel and at the same time caring and affectionate she-wolf reared two human cubs: could there be a more striking symbol of love and strength?

Re: The Wolf
Sat, March 1, 2008 - 4:21 PMI would say yes. There are large packs of people, that will quickly go after anyone who is new or weak or troublesome.
We humans supposedly have the ability to rise above such instincts, to use our mind to make rational decisions not based on pack psychology. -

Re: The Wolf
Sat, March 1, 2008 - 4:56 PMI don't believe that wolves are evil although they are often perceived that way.
They are very smart and independent animals who fill an important niche in nature.
They are predators, but for an important reason.
Some people are predators, but fill no important role in society. Those are the types I despise.
Others are predators and fill an important role. Those types I respect and admire.
It takes a wolf to catch a wolf. If you do catch one, beware.........

Sat, March 1, 2008 - 8:15 PMThere was no one cooler than Warren Zevon.
And I love wolves.
They get a bad rap.
Wolves are cool.
Little Red Riding Hood - that bitch! She slandered the big bad wolf, let me tell you. None of it went down the way she claimed it did. She took advantage of that wolf, and framed him for her own dasterdly deeds.
You don't believe me? It was a set up. Little Red Riding Hood stood to inherit a nice sum from grammy, wanted her dead. So she pinned it on the wolf, then had him killed so he couldn't testify against her.
Bitch. -

Women are good at "bait and switch" and playing the "victim" game - much better than men. A veteran detective or psychiatrist can easily spot those types and scrape the bullshit off the truth. Personally, some of the most sociopathic / psychopathic people I've ever known were women.
Ask anyone who has ever worked in a female prison and they'll tell you what "little red riding hoods" are really capable of. -

Re: The Wolf
Sun, March 2, 2008 - 11:09 AMWell, truth is, men are partially to blame there.
Left the women to their own devices for many years. We still are not allowed to do and think many things, it just isnt done in some countries. Women are the weaker sex and on and on. Plus, so many years of we simply have to look like this or that and be perfect in our beauty. Because according to traditional views, beauty is not deeper than what is on the outside. So many have hidden their not so savvy attributes under the visage of helplessness and weak bodies.
Behind the scenes however, there are many who give the rest of us bad names. They are pit vipers and will tag and bag anyone who gets in the way of what they want.
I personally do not care what people think I look like. I was born with what I look like, so therefore have no real choice in the matter. i dont lie about my age and am blunt and to the absolute direct and honest point in some dealings. i will not pussyfoot around and PC my way into life. I do not ask for help and have managed to take care of myself for many years. I dont always do a good job and truth to tell, sometimes it would be nice to have a male take care of me. But then I find I have to give myself up most times and be what I am not for them, to make them comfy. I can fix my own vehicle, my own roof, and many other things. I do not need anyone in my life to share it. I would however like someone in my life to share it. That can be tough. Especially with so many people hiding behind facades. -

Sun, March 2, 2008 - 6:48 PMI love bonfires. Our cabin in NH has a big outdoor bonfire pit, and there's usually one going every weekend in the summer. They're especially fun during Bike Week when we'd have a bunch of people camping at the house.

historically, the only power women have had has been gained through games of manipulation.
simply, these things were survival tactics.
both sexes are capable of evil deeds.
but again, i ask you to look at this from a historical perspective.

Sun, March 2, 2008 - 8:24 PMI am so glad you said that Wild. I have a tendancy to town on that one. actually, it is a pet peeve of mine.:) So many men refuse to believe they are actually the ones who shoulder most of the blame for how women are today.:) The of course there are the women who do give us the bad rep..Much like men have their bad apples...King Henry the 8th, being one of the oh so many when it comes to women. :) -
