Profile Views

So how many profile views do you have? Does it upset you when it never moves or are you the other way and concerned about how many people view you? Is it important to you or would you rather it just wasn't there?

    a lot.

    no.

since i never use pictures of myself as my avatar, it is interesting to see what
    motivates the mases to click.

Well, I suspect that your *current* avatar has generated a lot of clicks, Wild <lol>.

I don't care about that counter. I have been here for a long time, so there are a lot of views. It just means that someone was interested in something that I said somewhere, so that's cool. It's why *I* click on people's profile's...because they've piqued my interest somehow.

        yeah, you'd think.

Today I have 1063. It doesn't bother me if I don't get many views. I usually get only 1 or 2 views since the last time I checked it. There are only a few places where others can see how many views one has, so having a lot of them isn't important to me. I don't mind seeing that people have viewed my profile, either. I like that the views are being counted of people who have actually wanted to view my profile for some further information on there, not just a bunch of clicks put there by friends who want to boost my count for me.

I sometimes click on someone's profile for just limited further information, like their whole tribe name, or if they are male or female. I imagine some people are clicking just to find out something like that, or see a picture of my face. Probably very few of the clicks I do get are people who take the time to look at every module of my profile, or even some of them.

As of today, 12431 profile views, which is actually not that many considering the count started in July of '04 (my first account was deleted on Black Thursday (July 29th, 2004) backintheday.tribe.net/m/thre...c5bce9f ).

The way to get a huge view count, according to applicable scientific research, is to use a close-up picture of a woman's chest or butt as your main photo. I've never tried it, mainly because the view count that I pay attention to is only "today's views" which I use to guage how enraging some comment or other I made has turned out to be. I make a lot of inflammatory speeches on the POLITICS tribe and some folks click on me shortly after one has been posted, as if to say, "who the fuck IS this guy?!?!?!"

My profile gets me in the door, though; a lot of the friend invites I get say "Wow, I love your profile" which makes my day brighter and self-affirming: my entire goal in life is to make existence more interesting and plausibly meaningful to the people I can connect with. I love human beings, and I think that comes through even (especially?) when I'm being caustic and cranky.

18038 but I too, have been on since 04'

I never really pay attention to those anymore. When I first hopped onto tribe I admittingly watched it to see how many folks were checkin out my profile!! LOL

but now, I don't even notice. Doesn't really do or say much in my eyes. Like Loki reports, it's easy to increase the number by simply adding a pervy pic.
