I have a problem with community arts officers employed by local governments who have no interest in dance. I know that dance is not to everyone’s liking, but someone who is employed in that capacity should at least do his or her homework. How can this attitude/behaviour be addressed amicably?

Fri, September 1, 2006 - 7:23 AMOh good one Judith! I think that they should be bound to a chair and forced to watch Wrestling for a long continous time. (You decide here) At some point they will snap, lie down on the floor and beg for some good body moves...he /she will be starving for it. Then give them incentives to donate huge amounts of money to your company...like free tickets to great shows! Or get a good dog collar and let'm know who's boss! -

Fri, September 1, 2006 - 4:41 PMOh Jamilla, you are too kind with these suggestions. I once thought about tap dancing on the mayor’s desk but before I could do that he sent me a letter thanking me for informing him about dance… darn. He must have been getting the vibes that I was not happy. I think the problem where I live is that the local council employs people to fix social problems instead of looking at what causes the problems in the first place. A severe lack of inspiring places for organized dance with professionals who know what they are doing is one of them… but now I’m just babbling… back to thinking about some good body moves for choreography.
Great tribe… you are a brave woman.
