Re: Best Permaculture web sites you've found?
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 9:37 AMI should have added that I'm looking for sites that show Permaculture yards, homesteads, and farms in real life - illustrated by pix or by drawings, site plans, etc - so that the principles are actually played out and functioning. Not interested in sites offering permy introductions only or simply discussing the permy principles. -

Tue, August 4, 2009 - 3:54 PMI don't know if they're the best, but they're my favorite cause they're about me Alma Mater! :)

And here's a really great, totally professional ten minute vid about the work they're doing there (in spanish)

These are cool folks, very nice people. I've known them for about three years and visited many times.
La’akea Community near Pahoa in the Puna district, windward (Hilo) side of the Big Island of Hawaii.

This next site is related to permaculture and ties in but is not exactly permaculture per se. I have met these folks and seen their demo mini-system and Powerpoint show at a Puna sustainability faire but not yet been to their aquaponics site; they seem to be both knowledgable and friendly.

The folks at La'akea have a newer video up now: www.youtube.com/watch
I think this one shows their permaculture effort and community there much better than earlier efforts.
