Tarot-Numerology:

1. To find your tarot-numerological year card (related to the above number), add your day + month + 2006. If the number is over 22, reduce by adding together one more time. The result is the Major Arcana card tied to the year.
(e.g., May 6= 5+6+2006=2017=10=Wheel of Fortune)

2. To find your tarot cyclical year card, subtract 22 from your age after your birthday in 2006 (Note: If your birthday is at the end of the year, use your current age during the majority of the year). If the number is over 22, reduce by adding together one more time.
(e.g., 38-22=16=Tower)

For me,
Numerologically:
The Personal Year Number 1
Departure fever is in the air; it is time for a new beginning. Create it with renewed energy. You are in a personal year that represents new development, so you should be as active as possible. You might even feel more up to it, to change things, than in previous years. You have the chance to establish a higher self-esteem, if you take on the challenges without hesitating. Get clarity about your real goals, there will be plenty of opportunities for you this year. Don't let the opinions of others hold you back, or try to stick to conventions, you don't believe in. It is all about finding your own path to success and acknowledge your individuality. In this respect the year number 1 relates to the first sign of the zodiac, the Aries. Departure, expansion and reorientation with the striving for independence and to form your personality, are the subjects of this year. You might risk a complete new start or confuse the people whose demands were ruling you. This might cause conflicts, don't shy away from them.

Combined with my tarot cards of Wheel of Fortune (ups and downs, lots of movement) and Tower (major change happening from the outside which shatters my life as I know it), I expect this to be quite an eventful year for me.

Now your turn, what are your numbers and cards?

I would like some help interpreting these cards.

For the first one, I got 15, the second one, 18.

        Hi Melissa,

15 would be the Devil, which symbolizes bondage, being stuck, chained to old ways/tradition, controlled by an outside force(s). I know this energy well as that's the year I'm in right now. It makes way for major change, though, once you get too stuck and fed up with the status quo.

The opposite of the Devil card (1+5=6) is the Lovers. In the Lovers card you have the same couple but instead of being subservient to the wishes of "the devil", they are blessed with the energy of an angel. After you experience the "stuckness" (or perhaps maybe just needed rest/complacency), 2007 may be your year for a new love, or moving forward on a project or something that's being blocked all this year.

18 is the Moon, which symbolizes the hidden, mystery, inner self, reflection on self. Together with the Devil, maybe some shadow issues you may be working on this year to clear the way for someone/something new next year. Stillness within, personal growth, no longer denying or hiding parts of yourself.

What do you think? Make any sense with what's happening in your life now? I usually look at the energy of the year starting on your birthday. If your birthday is near the end of the year, maybe you're not feeling the energies so much yet.

Well, my birthday is 3-30-76. So, I guess my Tarot-numerological year card is 14. right? and my Tarot cyclical year card is 8. So, do I just read the meanings of the cards, and that's it?

      Hi Melissa,

I'll have to see if I can find a site with card meanings and not just the card names and illustrations.

Yes, 14 (Temperance) and 8 (Strength, or Justice, depending on the deck you use) are your year cards. My thoughts: Both Temperance and Strength (and Justice) are about finding a balance in life, whether it's between work and fun, head logic and heart emotions, two issues/decisions, etc. Temperance blends extremes and creates something new with the energies of all. Strength tames the wild side, but still holds that power within whenever needed. Justice is more about choosing between opposites. Does that make sense with anything you might be dealing with now or soon?

Also check out the other link for your year number (5) to see how that blends in with your cards.

        Here's mine...9-12-1968/2006

        The Personal Year Number 2
This is a time of peace and meditation as well as ,love, partnership and community. Like with all cyclic processes you have to see the Year Numbers in their context, which lets your good fortune depend on whether or not you took on the challenges of the previous year and used the opportunities. The pace slows down now. Use the time to realize what you have accomplished and how to secure it.
Did you let the chances of last year pass by; you will regret it now and could be discontented with yourself. You might overreact sensitively to critique and find some satisfaction in being overly critical yourself.
Did you give your life new meaning last year, developed new ideas and worked on them, you will have now the chance to expand and secure them. This year in general is well suited to reevaluate your motivations, goals and to realize, how your own perspective on things can influence the events.
You should concentrate on your intuition and its connection to your feelings, in order to make up for, what you missed out on last year. You are sensitive in your relationships with your partner and friends, so they are deepening.
        Card: The Devil

General Meaning: What has traditionally been known as the Devil card expresses the realm of the Taboo, the culturally rejected wildness and undigested shadow side that each of us carries in our subconscious. This shadow is actually at the core of our being, which we cannot get rid of and will never succeed in taming. From its earliest versions, which portrayed a vampire-demon, this card evoked the Church-fueled fear that a person could "lose their soul" to wild and passionate forces.

The image which emerged in the mid-1700's gives us a more sophisticated rendition -- that of the "scapegoated Goddess," whose esoteric name is Baphomet. Volcanic reserves of passion and primal desire empower her efforts to overcome the pressure of stereotyped roles and experience true freedom of soul. Tavaglione's highly evolved image (Stella deck) portrays the magical formula for harnessing and transmuting primal and obsessive emotions into a transformative energies. As a part of the Gnostic message of Tarot, this fearsome passion and power must be reintegrated into the personality, to fuel the soul's passage from mortal to immortal.

Tam, if your birthday is 05/21/1967 you would be 38 for most of 2006, yes?

For your first card add 0+5+2+1+2+0+0+6=16 (The Tower)

For your second card, 38-22=16 (also The Tower)

General Meaning: In practically all renditions of the Tower card, disaster is striking or has just struck. The demons of madness and despair are released from ancient hiding places, and nature conspires with human failings to destabilize a society. The upheaval is collective and impersonal. Let us remember these images were created for the educated nobles and clergy -- reminding them that they have the most to lose if the hierarchy is toppled.

Lightning is a fitting karmic payback for the guilt of those whose fortunes come from the exploitation or abuse of others. A modern subtitle might be "Revolution," indicating that through drastic social change oppressed people can find renewed hope of better times. The Tower experience comes like a flash of lightning to topple the hierarchy of the old order, after which everyone can have a fresh start on a more equal footing.

              Tue, January 31, 2006 - 12:22 PM
I would consider either the Tower (16) or Chariot (7) your number card. Usually I add the day and month to the year (or 26+2006, instead of 5+21+2006), which would equal 7 (Chariot). See which one fits better. Both are about a lot of energy, things happening and moving. The Tower is just more drastic and an outside force which shakes up and totally reorganizes your life, whereas the Chariot could initiate from yourself and be forward movement towards a goal, place, etc..

For the cyclical card, starting on your birthday you will be 39, so I consider 17/The Star (instead of The Tower) as your card, since it applies for the majority of the year. You should start feeling the energy a little before your birthday. The Star is about hope, achieving your dreams/goals, and positivity. Plus, for me, it's very much the self-actualization card.

So, combined: much energy directed towards reaching your goals and being the you you want to be.

Interesting. I'm 8 and 21, both feminine or "Goddess" cards, and both very positive. I'm very attuned to Nature, so this should be a very good year for me!

    Card #8: Strength

General Meaning: What has traditionally been known as the Strength card represents Nature which, however wild in its primal form, is tamed by our subtler, finer (feminine, interior) self. The will and passion of our instinctive nature does not need to be broken, but refined and brought to consciousness -- so that all levels of Creation, inner and outer, may come into harmony.

The feminine soul-force contains a persuasive power that can nurture and induce cooperation from others, stilling disruptive energies by harmonizing differences in the spirit of collective good will.

    Card #21: The World

General Meaning: What has traditionally been known as the World card points to the presiding intelligence, called "Sophia," or Wisdom, which upholds life on this and all worlds. A more precise title for this card might be "the Soul of the World," also applicable as a symbol of personal empowerment and freedom. In most Tarot decks it is a female figure that has become our standard World image. She originates in Hebrew, Gnostic and Alchemical lore, and stands between heaven and earth as the Cosmic Mother of Souls, the Wife of God and our protector from the karmic forces we have set loose upon the Earth in our immaturity and ignorance.

Where the Empress energy secures and fertilizes our terrestrial lives, the goddess of The World invites us into cosmic citizenship -- once we come to realize our soul's potential for it. Just as the Chariot stands for success in achieving a separate Self, and Temperance represents achievement of mental and moral health, the World card announces the awakening of the soul's Immortal Being, accomplished without the necessity of dying.

This card, like the Sun, is reputed to have no negative meaning no matter where or how it appears. If the Hermetic axiom is "Know Thyself", this image represents what becomes known when the true nature of Self is followed to creative freedom and its ultimate realization.

      Hi Paul,

I don't want to negate all your feminine energy, but those are your current cards. What I would consider your year cards (at least for the second half of the year) would be 18/Moon and 22/Fool. How do those feel for you? Inner reflection/mystery and new beginnings/fun/adventure/whimsy?

Btw, Strength is my favorite card as well as my personality and soul card.

Hmmm... I guess I'm just not getting this then. Since my birthdate this year is 08/10/2006, I'm adding 18+2006=2024. I was then adding 2+0+2+4 to get 8. Even if I ad 20+24 I get 44, which also breaks down to 8. How are you getting 18?

I think I do understand 22 (44-22), but since my birthday isn't until August I thought I was supposed to use my age during the majority of the year (43). I'm also confused about 22/Fool. I thought The Fool was card #0. Are you using 22 because there is no Card#22 in the Major Arcana and birth numbers will never add up to zero? That must be it I guess.

Anyway, I guess my new meanings would be...

        Card #18: The Moon
General Meaning: What has traditionally been known as the Moon card refers to a deep state of sensitivity and imaginative impressionability, developed within a womb of deep relaxation. Here we dream and go into trance, have visions and receive insights, wash in and out with the psychic tides, and experience deep mystical and/or terrifying realities beyond our ordinary senses. The full moon and/or eclipse cycle charted by the Magi (as in some of the earliest Moon card images) exemplify this as a mechanism that Nature uses to expand consciousness.

The variants of the courtly lovers (representing skillful use of the sex force) or the man sleeping it off under the tree (use of drugs to alter consciousness) are also traditional avenues for tapping this primal force. Human interest in higher states propels us to the frontiers of consciousness, where we cannot always control what happens. The Moon card represents the ultimate test of a soul's integrity, where the membrane between self and the Unknown is removed, and the drop of individuality reenters the Ocean of Being. What transpires next is between a soul and its Maker.

        Card #22(0): The Fool
General Meaning: Pamela Coleman-Smith's artful rendition of an "innocent Fool" archetype (Rider-Waite deck) is often used to represent Tarot in general. Early classical versions of the Fool card, however, portray quite a different character -- a person driven by base needs and urges, who has fallen into a state of poverty and deprivation.

In some instances, he is made out to be a carnival entertainer or a huckster. In others, he is portrayed as decrepit and vulnerable -- as the cumulative result of his delusions and failures. Not until the 20th century do you see the popular Rider-Waite image of the Fool arise -- that of an innocent Soul before its Fall into Matter, as yet untainted by contact with society and all its ills.

Modern decks usually borrow from the Rider-Waite imagery. Most Fool cards copy the bucolic mountainside scene, the butterfly, the potential misplaced step that will send the Fool tumbling into the unknown. Don't forget, however, that the earlier versions of this card represented already-fallen humanity, over-identified with the material plane of existence, and beginning a pilgrimage towards self-knowledge, and eventually, wisdom. The Fool reminds us to recognize the path of personal development within ourselves -- and the stage upon that path where we find ourselves -- in order to energize our movement toward deeper self-realization.

Oops! No, you're right, 8 is your year number. I accidentally used your birth year. So, your personality card would be 18/Moon (18+1962=1980=18).

Yes, you're right about my use of The Fool as 22, because there's no way to get numbers to add to zero--and you wouldn't want to miss out on that fun Fool energy!
