HIV Charity Event

So Friday June 29th the Tarrant County Interfaith AIDS Network is having a get together for Get Tested Day. This group gives free HIV test with no id required, the test is done with either a fingerstick or mouth swab and you get the results in about 30 min. They are looking for ppl to come perform and to attract a crowd. Even if you don't have an act please come out and support the cause.The network has been up and running for about six months and they need all the help they can get in getting the word out. I think this is an amazing service and would really like to see the Dallas burners come to Ft Worth :) I should be getting the time of the event monday and I will post the info then, I just thought I'd put feelers out there so you crazy kids could mark your calenders.

This is posted in other places also, but I wanted to let you know, NO that I want, need, desire, perhaps even beg that if you are a member of pillow fight and are planning on comming already that you are MORE THEN WELCOME FEATHERS AND ALL....

Ok so after much talk the owner of coconuts has agreed that I can have one of his fridays. So what else would I do with it then give it to you. Nothing has been set as far as dates go but the sooner the better. I really would love to see this take off. The club will be closed to the public, so it will be less like a bar crawl and more like an event. Can you imagine it, the beautiful chaos invading Coconuts. The only stipulation is that I have to be able to produce a crowd. So I wouldn't need an strict rsvp list just enouph responses that show it isn't a complete bad idea. ( It is a safe bet that I didn't tell the owner about COLD camp, I think they will be a lovely suprize - muah ha ha ha ha - ) COLD is surly welcome. I am also extending the invite to the BDSM community, the drum circles, the bellydancers, the fire eater, the burlesque dancers, the freaks, the goths, The body modification scene...... with just a few rules..... I know but in order for it to be amazing even chaos sometimes needs guidance. Everyone must be 21 or older with a valid ID, Costumes must cover genatalia (pubic region) Topless is ok once inside the club. See almost painless :) As far as music goes if you bring it we can play it. This is not like going to a club and hanging out. I have been given premission to take over it for this one night. It has such great potintial if anyone is interested. Once I start to get a response and recomindations on which Friday

Here's the plan:

Go to Saturday Market as you are probably going to do anyway. Bring a pillow concealed by these popular methods:

~ in a book bag
~ one of those huge mom purses
~ fake pregnant belly
~ badonky donk butt
~ stylish cape
~ in a stroller with no baby
~ as a saddle for your dog

Then around 1:50 make your way towards the Skidmore Fountain. Wait until you hear a whistle blow @ 2:00 and proceed to yell PILLOW FIGHT and make tons of new friends by beating them senseless with a pillow. Repeat for 15 minutes and then resume your lovely Saturday.

Come and bring your friends and family - the more people the better!

Ghosting San Francisco

So I'm thinking of a Flash Mob / Performance Art piece striking the city of San Francisco on Tuesday, October 31st 2006. Currently the thought is to have people that wish to participate get a plain white bed sheet or anything they can make a ghost costume out of to wear on Halloween night. The idea is to have all the participants leave work (between 5pm and 6pm) in their Ghostly outfits, the target is all of downtown SF from work to any Bart station located down Market street and disperse accordingly to where people live or get off of the Bart.... this idea can even extend to include Buses.

I'd like to get other peoples thought about this, it's really all in good spirits and innocent fun, but before I start to really promote the idea and get it organized, ideas and suggestions would be awesome.

Dallas Pillow Fight Club Recap!

Our first ever! We had about 30 people. We met in West End, a retail, restaurant & entertainment complex downtown, very near Dealey Plaza & the Grassy Knoll. At 6:30 sharp, the first Pillow Fight broke out. It broke up & we went into Cadillac Bar for refreshments & rejuvenation. This allowed time for the late stragglers (me included) to arrive. After greeting & drinking, we stepped outside to an emtpy grassy lot for Pillow Fight 2 - playground style. The lot was big, so it allowed for running & gaining momentum for those big pillow swings. Exhausted & tickled, some were ready to call it a night & go to a Tom Foolery party at a local vintage shop. But no! One more fight! I suggested we go to Dick's Last Resort. Their rudeness & attitudes would only fuel our fights! We found out they moved, so we had a little walk....a pillow rampage war-walk. On the way, we saw some tourists posing by the West End neon light. A few stopped to pose w/ them. Then we had them take our group shot under the neon light. Pillow Fight 3 - impromptu style! Onward w/ the trek to Dick's. It was a longer walk than planned, so to the bar we go! We were getting plummeted w/ napkins, name calling & attitudes got us fired up. Where would we fight now? There was a small corner w/ a sculpture that some said would be too small. No! Pillow Fight 4 - compact style! We didn't have much room, but the hits were coming harder. What's that - someone's B-day? We ganged up on the two, one at a time, birthday pillow spanking style! We were exhausted then, so we all laid down on our pillows and took a nap. The customers on the patio applauded with Pillow Envy Glee. Yes, Pillow Fight Club Dallas was a success!

"PILLOW FIGHTS, WINS While urban pillow fights have struck around the world Portland experienced the soft, fluffy phenomenon for the first time last Friday in Pioneer Square. About 200 down-warriors and another 200 onlookers (including 20 police officers who just hung out and watched) created a giant cloud of feathers within the first few seconds of an event that lasted over an hour. The fight was organized through an anonymous MySpace profile and word of mouth (but our bets are on the merry pranksters of the Portland Cacophony Society). It wasn't sanctioned by Pioneer Courthouse Square Incorporated (the company that books events at the space), which had to call in a special crew to get the ankle-deep feathers removed after the battle ended. Scoop swears some of the pillow fighters helped clean up, too."

Way to go Portland!

We had a great pillow fight in the downtown pdx in "Portland's living room" of Pioneer Square! About 250 or so showed up and biffed it out for an hour. Good crowd and great fun.
