Seems like i've done this in the past. Now I'm running the current version of Mapsource (6.8.0) and it refuses to recognize IMG files.

Do any of you Geowankers know what happened and how to get around this?

Mapsource may not recognize 3rd-party img files, since there is such a tangled rights locking mechanism involved, as well as a tdb file. You may have to use SendMap instead ( gps.chrisb.org/en/download.htm ) to upload img files to a Garmin unit (e.g. those created with cgpsmap / GPSMapedit). GPS Map Manager is claimed to load custom img files into MapSource, but I haven't tried it.

Just as a reminder, img files are a proprietary garmin vector format and have nothing to do with imagery.
