Sun, September 3, 2006 - 9:46 PMWatching on disc is the way to go with this one. They dribble out new episodes like an old man with the stone trying to make water during the regular season. -
-
Re: lost
Sun, September 3, 2006 - 11:21 PMThey aren't doing that this year - thank dog.
This year, they are airing 7 episodes in a row to start the season, replacing it with Taye Diggs' new series for a certain number of weeks, and then airing the rest of the season.
Can't wait.

Mon, September 4, 2006 - 7:28 AMwhat this show needs to draw me in is ricardo montalban and herve villechaize. *then* it would work.
you know, just some dude with his dwarf friend who pops in every 15 min in a show to give you life-lessons and a 'during show' re-cap. -

Re: lost
Mon, September 4, 2006 - 10:50 AMRemember that Fantasy Island episode where Annette Funicello battles a vent. dummy or doll that she throws on a pyre, and it turns into a real woman? Who was that... not Adrienne Barbeaux, uh, fuck. Anyway, it scared me. -

Re: lost
Mon, September 4, 2006 - 11:05 AMI'm so addicted to Lost. It's got to have one of the most fabulous group of writers in the history of television. It doesn't make a lick of sense and there's no dots to connect and everyone is stark raving mad and maybe dead or maybe a dream or maybe in another realm or maybe part of a scientific conspiracy or maybe expatriates or maybe satan worshippers or maybe psychic or maybe dangerous or maybe maybe maybe I just wish Kate and Jack would get together! arrgh! that kills me!

Re: this thread is really about 'fantasy island'
Mon, September 4, 2006 - 11:51 AMtotally.
and i can remember that episode mentioned, thought it was adrienne barbeaux with the doll/woman thingy. there was another episode where there was this big ol' voodoo skull projecting through the jungle. that scared the piss out of me.
but mr. roarke was cool as ice, and sippin' drinks n shit. it ain't no thing, that krazy island bidness. -

Mon, September 4, 2006 - 11:56 AMDid you get Tales Of The Unexpected over there? Roald Dahl originals were obviously the best....I bought a box set of those of ebay and was sorely disappointed they weren't actually the ones he wrote, still to find the RD originals, that series used to scare me rigid as a kid blooming brilliant -

Re: this thread is really about 'roald dahl'
Mon, September 4, 2006 - 12:09 PMi love roald dahl's other projects. we didn't get tales of the unexpected in southern cal., but maybe they're gonna do dvd.
i'm even such a dork for old british (childrens) programming that i wouldn't mind seeing some of the old wonderworks stuff again.
i think 'lamb for the slaughter' is one of my fave dahl tales of irony. -

Tue, September 5, 2006 - 8:44 AM> I liked how libby and ana lucia died. funny shit.
I liked how I dragged ass long enough on seeing Season Two that I started reading spoilers in what had seemed like a pretty innocuous forum.
No, it's actually good to know Ana Lucia bit the bullet. Gives me one more thing to look forward to. I hope to rent this pretty soon. -
-

Thu, October 5, 2006 - 3:16 PMOk. Do I need to Netflix LOST and have a marathon? I didn't start watching it from the beginning, so I bailed on the series. Is it worth it? Will I love it? -
-
Re: this thread is really about addiction
Thu, October 5, 2006 - 3:21 PMwell, it seems to be something people either love or hate. i haven't met anyone in the middle about it. if you are not hooked after the first episode, well then you know where you stand. i love it because it's not another stupid show about cops, or lawyers, or doctors -

Thu, October 5, 2006 - 3:25 PMWhat do you think about how the story is unfolding over the seasons? Do you like where it's going or do you feel like the show has kind of lost its focus? -
-
Re: this thread is really about addiction
Thu, October 5, 2006 - 3:28 PMI have no idea what it's focus was, so I can't say if it's changed or not. I like all the little mysteries, and I like how the story isn't all wrapped up in a neat package in an hour -

Re: this thread is really about addiction
Thu, October 19, 2006 - 8:43 AMPsilocybin mushrooms. He took what Terrance McKenna called a heroic dose - 5 dried grams - and he laid in a field of green grass for four hours, going "My God, I love everything". The heavens parted, God looked down and rained gifts of forgiveness onto his being, healing him on every level, psychically, physically, emotionally... and he realized our true nature is spirit, not body, that we are eternal beings, and that God's love is unconditional and there's nothing we can ever do to change that. It is only our illusion that we are separate from God, or that we are alone. In fact, the reality is, that we are one with God, and he loves us.
No, wait, that's Bill Hicks. Sorry.

Re: this thread is really about addiction
Thu, October 19, 2006 - 10:18 AMlocke is growing to be my least favorite character.
he saw Boone, who was a little snippy to him, then he rolled him through an airport staffed and populated by the people on the island, and he told him to clean up his own mess. so locke decided to go save Mr. Eko, which you would think would have been the first idea he had.
also they did more locke backstory and he is a fucking retard basically.
and desmond can kind of see the future or something, even though when the moment occurred that he kind of mentioned earlier, he was not even with the group, but throwing rocks in the ocean, which tripped hurley out.
also the preview for next week shows the others going the fuck off on poor sawyer or kate or one of them. -

Re: this thread is really about addiction
Thu, October 19, 2006 - 10:51 AM> locke is growing to be my least favorite character.
Four words:
THEY TOOK MY SON -
-
Re: this thread is really about addiction
Thu, October 19, 2006 - 12:31 PMbut at least he had a clear and emotion-backed determination to get his son back and did what he had to do to do it. locke just fucks things up, then fucks them up again, then fucks up some more, and after fucking up a couple more things he tops it off by fucking up. and his little mysterious schtick is tiresome as hell. -
-
Re: this thread is really about addiction
Thu, October 19, 2006 - 12:35 PMi like locke. -

Re: this thread is really about addiction
Thu, October 19, 2006 - 1:17 PMLocke is well-intentioned, and that counts for a lot.
If I had to cherry-pick a handful of those characters to be with me on an island, Locke would be on the short list (along with a doctor, a fisherman, a technologically proficient soldier, and a "pleasure box"). -
-
Re: this thread is really about addiction
Thu, October 19, 2006 - 1:22 PMlocke has a serious exposition problem. he doesn't fucking talk when if he fucking talked problems would not have happened. -
