hello! pluto transited my neptune and entered my twelfth house 2 years ago (at the same time! neptune is last degree of 11th hs), and that was seriously the most intensely surreal and traumatic time of my life. SO much happened, i can't even begin to explain. i'm still recovering.

well, now pluto is 3 degrees from my venus (has been for a year), and i am sort of nervous. i want to focus on what this means in the most positive light possible! i've only recenlty started studying transits, and need some input about this! i know the transit will last a while.. i guess i want to know what it means, what i can expect, what i should do!

thank you!

    he lovecakes...
try this link, you can read a lot about it here

    tribes.tribe.net/venuspluto

from what i know about it... you will have very strong love and sexual feelings that will be undeniable...because of this the way you love and appreciate things will never be the same again.. either way you will fall in love with someone while you're allready married, or you want your current relationship to be more intense, your love life will just totally change and everything that has always been there but not expressed will come up now..
also look at the houses with libra or taurus on the cusp, these houses will change too... lets say you have librai n the 3rd then you will communicate way differently.. lets say you have taurus on the 6th then your workplace will change or you will fall in love with one of your co-workers.. get it a little bit?

this is a more proffesional description from cafeastrology.com :

Your relationships in general will become more intense, but especially those involving love and sex. You will experience emotional extremes and, if a relationship is in a rut, you are likely to decide to break it off. "All or nothing" may become your motto, and the "all" includes a depth and intensity of emotional response. You want to feel your love to the very core of your being, and you want to play an important part in someone else's life. Obviously, any relationship which only stirs lukewarm responses won't be able to stand up under the demands that you make of it now. Keep your eyes open; someone you meet now may teach you some important lessons about love. You may have a love relationship with this person, or he/she could be someone who plays the role of teacher or guru. Your sex drive is strong and may find an outlet in either a new or existing relationship or through a creative medium such as writing or painting.

*Romance and sexuality are the key issues now. Your sexual drive is particularly strong now, and you are driven by a strong need to achieve a deeper level of fulfillment in your love relationships. At times during this time period you are not able to constrain your compulsive feelings, and you are prone to dispense with reason, logic, rational judgment, ethics, and taboos.

+Stand by to cut loose a lot of dead wood, in particular as regards what you appreciate and value -- your value system. This could be a permanent change that leaves you appreciating only the essential and lasting things.

wish you the best, and enjoy the period, it also means great sex!

when pluto went over my venus i became much more in touch with my femininity, and much more feminine. I had been somewhat of a tomboy before, not really valuing the feminine. this transit deepened my appreciation for women, and the the depth of the feminine. it was actually a beautiful transit, and there was none of the relationship drama that you read about pluto and venus together.

that is really remarkable! i have always been a tomboy too, and in the last 6 or so months i've suddenly had the urge and inclination toward becoming more feminine as well!! wow, so funny!

can i ask what orb i should be using? i've heard three degrees, but does that mean 3 before and after (and including?) natal venus, or three altogether including?

orbs are somewhat personal. with a major outer planet like pluto, i think 3 degrees before you will start to feel something. directly on it will be the strongest. then aftewards its about processing the changes, and integrating.

venus is the anima, it is the feminine. i think that plutos transit of anything brings us to the very depth of what that planet represents. venus is also our sexuality so its common to get deeper into our sexuality , what ever that means to the person. i started exploring my attraction to women, and the feminine during this time, and had several relationships with women - which lasted during that time, and has never surfaced since! Some people can get into the power aspects of their sexuality, and maybe explore s&,m or bondage during this time. some people can be drawn to a plutonian type person, or relationship (i see this happening with you, sam). some people just end their relationship b/c its no longer serving a purpose in their lives, and they can then use venus for its more creative potential rather than focusing on "other".
lots of different manifestations can occur.

      so interesting!

i have many thoughts on this.

      1) i just came out of an INTENSE relationship that lasted about a year and a half. most beautiful, closest relationship of my life. unfortuately he was bpd and psychotic and suicidal (though he didn't die; but many attempts). that really threw my whole world upsidedown. we were SO close when he wasn't in his episodes. it was very all or nothing. interesting that this occurred *before* my transit!

      2) interesting that because we were so close i have had next to no desire to have any more relationships for a looong time. we believed we were soulmates and now he hates me (a bpd thing). this is the first time in my life i have not wanted a relationship. seriously. but somehow i feel more confident and good that i don't want or need one! it's the strangest thing.

      3) i keep having BEAUTIFUL dreams where i fall in love with some wonderful guy. always a different guy, and we're always very close.

so strange! so if this is just the beginning of the transit, i wonder what will come next!!

also, how do i factor in the fact that this is happening in my 12th house?
thank you so much for your reply!

well pluto has been square my veus for about a year now. And you hit the nail on the head in your post. I met someone who totally knocked my sox off <I never felt this way about anyone ever before in my life and I'm middle aged and been married twice, this is the one I've been waiting for forever>and I feel if I can't him, I don't want anyone. My current relationship just feels like an empty shell, and in truth I wasn't happy before this transit even hit.
PROBLEM, we are both already in committed relationships and there has never been any admittence to each other that we have these feelings. I'm assuming he does, I saw it, I felt it and the eyes don't lie. Just to make my life even more of a living hell, I natally have mars, merc and nep conjunct each other in the 8th house.
All I can say is this truly sucks because i know I'll never wind up with that other man, and even if I could the choice and upheavel involved would probably kill me.

Certainly, Pluto squaring Venus can be a deep soul journey of uncovering deeper issues, challenges and rewards. Jeffry Wolf Green's exploration of " Pluto, and the evolutionary journey of the soul, certainly casts a stong light on the souls journey and emotional needs to transform. Pluto as representing the 8th house certainly brings into play a vast array of potentials in this transit of Pluto to Venus. This is a once in a lifetime square to Venus and in that statement alone there are powerful implications of both the intensity and purposefulness of this transit. In my own astrological work this transit represents a powerful transition time of deep emotional/sexual purpose. It is commanding and covers a vast array of issues and compulsions and ultimately contains much wealth if one treats it as a valuable and necessary dealing with the vitalistic Pluto/8th house implications. Also, not to be feared but met head on with a strong, anticipatory expectation of powerful changes.

I know this post is old - but I thought I would reply anyway.

I am currently going through Pluto square Venus, my Saturn Return, and Pluto square Saturn. What I've read on astro.com and other places, it seems as if this is a horrible transit. Other people's real-life experiences have scared me so much leading up to this transit that I had panic attacks. I thought I was going to lose my relationships, my jobs, my health, my money, my stability, my friends, etc. One woman even told me that her son and mother both died during her Pluto square Venus transit.

***WELL, I am now nine months into both my Pluto transits and this is what I have to say: My life is great.

During these "horrible" transits: I left a job that I had for 5 years (one that I hated) for one where I work for my fiance (did I mention I'm happily engaged and planning my wedding?). I work from home, make my own hours, and because my fiance and I have more time together, our relationship is better! I also now have time to pursue my hobbies and feel more clear-headed and happier in general. I began working out which also makes me feel great. We moved into our dream apartment. My fiance works for himself and is doing very, very well, so our finances are not an issue at all. We are looking forward to buying a house within the next couple of years. My family is happy, my sister just had her first baby, family life is great.

With that said, I truly believe that everything is how you look at it. I love my life and would say the past few months have the best I've ever had. I am having honest conversations with my friends and families, and being my true self. BUT, you can look at my situation as being not-so-great....

My mother is now going through chemo, I have thousands of dollars to pay off in students loans and still don't have a degree, my estranged father is MIA and I worry about his health and wellbeing, I am almost 30 and don't feel as if my career is anywhere near where I want it to be. I got an abnormal pap and they said it's cervical dysplasia. Sounds pretty bad, huh? This is how I see it: My mom is 61 and her cancer was found early. She is cancer-free and doing chemo to make sure it's all out of her. Everyone has student loans and my fiances otherwise are fine. I struggle with my father's situation but it's not something that consumes me. I feel happy with my current job and know that I am not alone in wishing that I was more successful. Everyday I work hard. Cervical dysplasia occurs in many women and I have nothing to worry about. Again, it's all about how you see it.

I followed astrology for a while. I don't really know the technical part of it all, but I can tell you that the websites and people's personal experiences scared the holy hell out of me. I now truly believe that astrology can tell you what kind of personality you may be, but we as humans are so powerful, so willful, and so strong, that transits aren't as powerful as we think. Someone's son and mother died during her Pluto transit and I highly doubt that cancer formed in her mom's uterus because her daughter was going through some sort of transit. Be happy and strong and make good decisions and nothing can touch you.

      >>With that said, I truly believe that everything is how you look at it.<<

that, and then, what we do with it. The reason we look at transits and pending transits is to understand the nature of the interactions between the transiting planet and our natal planets/charts . . . not to expect any particular outcomes that astrologers use as examples, or worse, as predictions. Every transit is nothing more than a context, and there's no such thing as an inherently bad or horrible transit until we've actually lived it as such, or turned it into one. And even then, it's due to no fault of the planets involved, but only of our own doings within that context.

every transit represents certain sorts of opportunities for personal and spiritual growth

It's as if you can take any train of thought, and either turn it into a movie - a comedy perhaps, or compose it to a beautiful tune, focus on it so intensely that you create an obsession, or repress it so much to the point where it turns up elsewhere in your life, like seeing the number 23 constantly and you're left wondering why.

If you're always open to how you're actually feel, over how you *think* you should or could be feeling...
If you give no reason for whatever this is, not adding fuel to fire by exaggerating what actually is going on.
If you're feeling centred and have perspective of what's taking place.

It's really up to whether you use the knowledge of transits to give more reason to act in crazy ways, especially in regards to plutonian characteristics.

Or whether you use it 'wisely' to appreciate the experiences that it allows you to have whilst keeping it in some sort of self-made balance.

Your call, always has and always will be :)
