wantin’ to jam
jam about whatever
life in general
feelings and felts
get all emotional
and there’s social issues
lots of food for thinkin’
opinions a plenty
jammed out in words
what about Nature
the weather
a jam about trees
dogs or cats
bats at sunset
waiting to be jammed
jam what you want
anything for the jammin’
jam away

mine eyes have seen the glory
    the gory
    the inept
    the hopeful
    the saddened
    the troubled
    the frazzled
    the joyous
    the romantic
    the cynical
seen all kinds of heat and cold
    watched fallen roofs
    and cloven hooves
and vegetarians march to the tune of celtic flutes
and heard the sights of unspoken dreams
    dripping with remorse
    mine eyes
    have seen your eyes
    a scene of unprocessed gasps

      the everyday
      or commoner
      the refined
      and snobbish
      the bum
      or street trash
      the intellectual
      and well-educated
      the agnostic
      or atheist
      the faithful
      and religious
      the pacifist
      or nonviolent
      the activist
      and extremist
      the jammer
      or jammin'

      it's a jam

      speaking about a drumlin
oval hill made by glacial drift
      bordering a cape cod home
      mostly covered by woodland
      once was a cleared farmland
fenced off by some rock walls
stones hauled by ox and cart
      now overshadowed by trees
      and surrounded by foliage
      wasn’t good for planting
      soil not quite deep enough
      great though for wildlife
      trying to live with humans
      with lots of houses around
      all facing together change

        sudden forest
        nature has its way
        a hundred hidden beasties
        forging DNA
        do it, mama
        make the woodlands sing

          the woodlands sing
          at least for a while
          let it grow back
          ain’t for farming
          Massachusetts said
          but building invades
          who will overcome
          that’s the question

there's a weed in the woods
            plotting a take-over
            hatching schemes
            sending roots
            underground networking
as we sit in our parquet floored rafts
we are about to be unthroned
            taken over
            pirate weeds are converging

              that damn weed
              such will to go on
              despite opinion
              wanting to live
              being something
              similar to all else
to be or not to be

                attaching themselves.....weeds
                the weed of attraction
                offering dandelion love
                kudzu takin' over the
                forest legume style
                while they're still
                watchin' "i spy"
                right now it's all
                coming to a boil
                jam on saze this
                wired man

                  tin
                  sumi thin
                  people standing around trying
                  to see the beached whale
maybe they want that kind of body
and their picture in a New York City paper
at least until the Eskimos arrive on the horizon
in their tiny skin boats jammin' away like rotor blades
                  with those two ended paddles

                    blubber leads a man
                    hails whole villages
                    the call of barbecue
                    beckons tundra citizenry
                    upwind, irresistable
                    in hurry before cameras consume

                  words steaming
                  with zeal
                  jamarama
