I have always been fascinated by poi spinners so...I feel like now is the time to grab life by the reigns and start learning the things that facinate me.
I am in the San Jose, CA area and I am looking to learn how to spin. But, I have nothing. No supplies, no tutorials, nada. Can any of you take a girl under his/her wing? Point me in the right direction?
Of course...I will begin purusing this tribe for FAQ, but any personal guidance/tips/warnings/etc. would be awesome.

Come up to Oakland, CA to the Vulcan, for the thickest concentration of incredible spinners and teachers on the west coast. Check the Vulcan Crew out on their tribe:

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 8:53 AMIf you don't mind heading to SF, you can take classes at Temple of Poi. That's where I learned to spin. I know there are some folks in Santa Cruz that teach. I'm not sure in SJ. -
