ok, I just started and I was watching the beginner videos at home of poi. They seem pretty good, but I have one small problem. The woman keeps saying "notice my palms and wrist and where they're pointing?" But the camera's too far away to notice where they're pointing. Is there somewhere else to go for poi tutorials that shows close ups of the hands?

Re: tutorials
Tue, November 27, 2007 - 6:54 PMI also have a list of tutorials that come from all over the web. I am providing these as a resource for all kinds of different spinning arts. Right now I only have the basic poi moves and some more advanced glow moves, and a few staff moves, as time progresses, my site www.insphyre.com will have so many moves and tutorials that it will be a definitive resource bringing all the other tutorial websites in one.
Check it out, if you haven't www.insphyre.com
and go into
the forum and there you will find
a list of moves accompanied by
tutorial videos with each description.

Re: tutorials
Wed, December 12, 2007 - 5:22 PMI agree about Home of Poi. I bought my first set of practice poi from them along with the Art of Poi video and while it gives some good basic it was not really I found it impossible to learn things like he 3 beat wave because the instructions were not the good. I know you didn't ask about purchasing videos but if you do Poi Spinning Basics with Pele's Element was a godsend. The instructions are very clear and explained very well. -
