Re: Obama Favors Decriminalization?
Sun, February 3, 2008 - 8:19 PMObama intrigues me. It could very well be that we could see a lot of positive changes with his presidency.
But he plays his cards so close to his chest. He is a master of rhetoric, no question about that.
And it seems to me that he is morely likely to work to decriminalize marijuana than anyone likely to win.
Just ending the war on drugs would save sooooo much money in the budget, including letting people
out of prison. I would love to see this happen. .
Billary don't have the balls to do it, that's for sure. . -

Re: Obama Favors Decriminalization?
Mon, February 4, 2008 - 8:52 PMno, it isn't. . .but it is a first step and once that door is open, maybe the dialogue can expand.
we gotta cut money somewhere, so it may as well be where the villainy is!!! : )
stop the war on drugs, stop paying for mercenaries, cut the military budget in half for starters,
etc etc etc. . .
neither clinton or mccain will decriminalize. . .although mccain once hinted something like
that two centuries ago. . .he won't go there now. -

Tue, February 5, 2008 - 6:00 AM......I'd like to be a stick in the mud long enough to remind everyone that while the ACLU energies were diverted into decrim. directions several years ago, the Patriot Act was passed. What are you going to trade for your right to light up? -

Tue, February 5, 2008 - 8:29 AMDecriminalization isn't the first priority for me. The day that I find myself in a NORML office is the day when all the other issues have come to pass.

Sat, February 16, 2008 - 6:07 AMhow excited everyone got when billy played with his sax and admitted, ''gasp'', that he had put a Joint to his LIPS!!!!
Wasn't he the guy who funded thousands and thousands of posiltions for new state troopers,? a nickel or a second towards decriminalization? I think not.
Marijuana will never be deriminalized until everyone in Washington DC forgets Vietnam. Inextricably linked to the protests.

Re: Obama Favors Decriminalization?
Thu, February 14, 2008 - 9:49 PMDecriminalizing marijuana would be great because it would keep millions of harmless people from being turned into criminals. Legalization, on the other hand, would create conditions under which marijuana could be taxed. This could generate revenues at least as great as those of alcohol and gambling. Legalizing prostitution would also open up this avenue of revenue creation. -
