Hi
Due to different reasons, I would like to appoint a new manager/admin for this tribe. Otherwise I will close the tribe in a couple of days, since there is very low activity anyway.

Cheers

Poly situation

Hi all

What's the "poly situation" in your country. Is it something people are aware of? Is there a community, gatherings, and such?

In Denmark, polyamory is pretty much unknown. I got some reactions, however, from people who would say: "Ah, there is a term for the way, we're living!" But even those people are not really interested in joining or working in a community.

Apart from that, there are swinger clubs for heterosexual couples. Wife-swaping sort of. Swinging is sort of accepted, and kind of the only known way to live consentual non-monogamy. But basically, despite of very high divorce rates, everyone believes in Mr. and Mrs. Right and the perfect monogamy - or they stay single and have casual sex.

At times, I'm pretty frustrated because of this situation. So tell me how the situation is in your part of the world - either to comfort me or to give some good advice.

parents <=> reference values

Hi,

I'm just asking myself the question on how your parents handle the fact you're living in a ployamorous relationship ?

Not for the fact on "hiding it before the parents", but as they represent the reference of values we've grown up with.
So showing them we strive to other values should/could be hard for them, no ?

Any thoughts ?

thanks

Poly in the press

Our friends in Switzerland have been interviewed by a news paper:
http://tagesanzeiger.ch/dyn/news/vermischtes/712199.html

And I also got a request from a Danish journalist, who wants to write a feature about polyamory. The paper is known to be a bit conservative, but the journalist seems to have a positive interest and an open mind. And since we are promised to check the article before print, I guess we're giving it a try.

It would be really great to get some publicity for polyamory in Denmark. Most people still are ignorant or preoccupied.

Polyamory Weekend in Denmark

We made an attempt to arrange a polyamory weekend in Denmark. We hired a lovely, rather huge and very old former farmyard with thatched roof and not a single right angle. Unfortunately we hadn't too many registrations, and of those quite a couple stayed away. Well actually we were only four persons including my wife and myself. Oh well...

Nevertheless we had great fun and also very copious talks. Of course, the schedule was a bit altered towards a more casual gathering and a little site seeing on sunday. But still, I think it was the effort worth while, and I hope soon to be able to attend or arrange a poly-meeting again.
