I have experienced some good happy hours at Siam Society and the Portland Grill, but would like to experience some new ones. Where are some good happy hours with good food?

Re: Happy Hours
Wed, November 21, 2007 - 10:21 PMMy experiences at Portland Grill have been very good, but you have to get there before 5:00 in order to get a good table. They have tremendous sushi and other asian flair. Also the typical sliders, which I have not tried, but always seem to be the buzz around me. The drinks are priced higher than average, so keep that in check and it's a cost-effective and fun way to start an evening.

Re: Happy Hours
Fri, February 22, 2008 - 5:25 PMOne that we tried on Monday was in the Pearl, called the 10 01. Web page is at www.ten-01.com/ They had tremendous and inexpensive "truffle oil" fries. I had a couple of the oysters and could smell the sea air as they slid into my mouth. Pretty darn good. We also had the mussels which were not nearly as good as the oysters or fries. While the curry/coconut sauce looked intriguing, it added very little flavor. I'll pass on those in the future.
Their happy hour mixed drink was a champange/vodka mixture with a floating almond. It was nice and light. Beer is good, although only two selections on tap. Their wines are still too expensive.

Sat, April 12, 2008 - 3:35 PMYes, Portland Grill is wonderful. Check out Basta's. I recently moved back to Portland ... and re-discovered Basta's. They have killer happy hour munchies for $4.00 ... and the best Italian wine selection in Oregon.
