moll-nah

We have two syllables! Our dog Molly has been "Mah" for forever, but after spending an afternoon with grandpa, Cam now calls her "moll-nah". :) And then this morning suddenly he says breakfast: "beck-tass" too cute!

What new things are your little ones up to?

aaaaaak!!! i never thought two & three word sentences would be so freaking exciting!!!!

"walla, mommy, peas!" : translation : "water, mommy, please"

"peas! tele!" : translation : "please, telephone!"

and then all the other words she knows combined into the cutest little sentences .. park, turtle, coopie (cucumber), ernie, bert, cookie, zoe, telly and the rest of the sesame crew, milk ...

she can count to 10 and she knows her abc's .. whaaaat??! yes, it's crazy and true.

she can sing a very sweet version of "sing" ( sing, sing a song .. sing out loud, sing out strong ... )

    unfreakingbeliveable!!

and after a hiatus during the stomach virus, we've had not one, but two pee-pees a day in the potty : a.m. and afternoon after nap! wheeeeeeeeeee!!

what a kooky four weeks 19 to 20 months has been!

Ewan sings Yo ho ho ho a Pirate's life for me but instead he says "whoa whoa whoa whoa!" It cracks me up! He also shouts "Chwawa!" To a funny song we always play called "Chihuahua!"
Right now "air hain" (translation, airplane) is still his favorite word. He does like saying "han" so that I can wash his hands before we eat and "moch" when he wants to drink some milk.
So far his only two word sentences are "Hi daddy/mommy/JT" (JT is the cat) and "ah done" or all done and "yeah diap".

If he is wet or poopy and you ask him if he needs a diaper change he says "yeah diap" and goes to the diaper table to get changed.

He pretty much loves saying "Yeah" and "No" as much as possible.

Anaya is getting to know body parts. She pointed at the rocking horses eye and said, "Eye" then she pointed at her eye and my eye. She says, "Suess" as in shoes and will pick one up and bring it to me and then go get the other one. She knocks on the door to go outside. Often when we drive up to the sitters she starts barking because there is a dog there. She says "tighs" when we are putting on her tights. She caws with the crows outside only hers sounds more like a roar which she also does with this one book that has pictures of wild animals. She is really starting to run sometimes now too. And she signs milk, food, more, drink and all done.

PK has been saying "wadat?" "cat" "hat" "hi" There probably a few more I'm forgetting, but those are the hot ones right now..

Also, a few weeks ago, PK and I were out together. I called up my husband and handed her the phone to hay hi. Surprise of all surprises she said "hi da"!!! Totally unexpected and crazy!

The best though was when I was putting her in her carseat to take her to daycare a few days ago, she grabbed the collar of my shirt, and said "boob" as clear as a bell.

I'm thinking it's time to come up for another word for nursing!

...yeah, mine likes to yell ,"BOOBIE, BOOBIE!!!" at the top of her lungs in the grocery store.. too cute! :)

we've had a huge language explosion in the last month as well. multiple word sentences, mimicking EVERYTHING, counts to 5, names all body parts in english and spanish, colors, i think our list is around 80 or so words right now. ...but the best by far is the unexpected, uncontrollable, random bouts of dancing to anything and everything she hears. :-D

Max had a word explosion the past week or so. He now says uh oh, oh no, poopoo, up, this? (means, what's this/that?), Bun (the rabbit at his daycare is named BunBun), peeeee! (which means penis), no, mine.

What I really like is that he now nods his head, or shakes it, in response to questions. He has also discovered the magic of Legos, and is scooching around super well on his ride-on car. He also fully ran today!

He plays the piano at my MIL's house. Not like a child prodigy, just serious banging or focused tinkling of the ivories, but he turns the pages on the sheet music and acts as if he knows what he's doing. He plays for a few minutes and then claps for himself.

He's also getting good at finding body parts. He knows where his eyes and nose are. If you ask him where his tongue is, he waggles it. And if he's naked, and you ask where his penis is, he waggles that, too.

He's also started rinsing his own hair in the tub after it gets shampooed. He'll put his hand out when he's decided that his dad is done lathering, and then he scoops water in his cup and pours it over his head a few times.

At 5.5 mos. Caidy started saying dadaddadadadadadadada and that was enough to get tears in our eyes. Her voice was so deep and different to the innocent girly cooing she once did. Daddy actually thinks she is calling for him. I let him feel that way. No harm no foul. The same day she started the dada thing she also said Mama first (says he). I've heard her say Mama two or three times but for the most part her rambling is all about the dadadadadaddadada's. :)
