hi....wondering if any of you have had to fence in your yard yourself, for your lil one. and if so, what did you use? i just bought a roll of picket fence and when i went to set it up....well, lets just say that my cat could knock it down if he wanted to....so wondering what some of you expert moms (or your men) have done to make a sturdy barrier around your yard.
ps i cant have something too high because the lawnmower man has to be able to get over it (or through it) to mow the lawn.
pps im looking for a way to do it that is both inexpensive and doable. im doin it myself. rrrawwwwwr!

Re: childproof yard
Mon, April 28, 2008 - 11:47 AMI can't be much help, as our very large yard is fully fenced. (in fact, Cam was outside playing this morning and I went inside to get him a snack, and came out and didn't see him - my heart went into my throat, but then I found him crawling way over by the fence chasing the dog...for some reason he doesn' t think he can walk in grass, only crawl. And maybe our yard is *too* big)
However, if you are looking for something less permanent, a girlfriend of mine uses these to corral her little ones:

they are kind of nice, since they are portable, but we'd have to buy five sets for my little explorer! -

Re: childproof yard
Tue, April 29, 2008 - 11:59 AMthanks ladies......i actually decided to buy this pretty cheap vinyl coated wire fencing.....it came in a roll. i bought tie wires and rebar to support it around the yard. he cant get over it, and its sturdy enough to do the job.......and it will be very easy to take it down later. oh, and the lawnmower man said it was low enough for him to lift his mower over. so all in all, it seems like the perfect solution.
